I love the joker although it is odd to me that Heath Ledger is playing him.

    Saw this before.

Joker looks pretty cool. Reminds me of the old time gangsters.

I admit Joker does look pretty cool, but I still think that Jack Nicholson was the best Joker.

I had my reservations about this, but Ledger looks to be doing pretty well in this. Jack Nicholson did the best Joker though. The original movie directed by Tim Burton was awesome.

Yeah I realize, I'm necroing this thread, but with 9 days left until the release date (in the US). I don't think it's such a bad thing.A lot has happened since this thread was last posted in. Obviously, Heath Ledger died, but this thread is about the movie, so let's concentrate on that.

A few more trailers have appeared with both the Joker and the movie looking more and more epic. For those of you who haven't seen them, I will save you the searching time, and post them.

The Dark Knight has also done the most extensive viral marketing campaign. For what it's worth, in my opinion this viral marketing thing kicks ass. Here are some of the examples.

I see it was mentioned before, but the five minutes of The Dark Knight have been released. They were released on the Blu-ray version of Batman Begins, which came out yesterday (I bought it, and highly recommend it) It took me a while, but I finally found a link to it online, but it's shitty quality. Actual clips from the movie have also been released.

http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=ma0OWqjwm8Y&feature=related (These are the six minutes)

http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5143&Itemid=99 (the 12 released clips, the last one with the Joker rules.)

For those of you who can't wait for the movie. WarnerBros has released a prequel to the Dark Knight. It's an animated feature, called Batman: Gotham Knight. It's rated PG-13, and has a shitload of violence. I wouldn't recommend that you buy it, since it's only good for one viewing. I suggest you use your internet savvy to watch this one. Here is the official website link, for those of you are interested in it.

Last but not least, the first reviews for The Dark Knight are out. It hasn't gotten a single bad review yet (100% on Rotten tomatoes), with most critics giving the movie very favorable reviews. Most of the crtitcs who have watched it say Ledger's Joker is better than Jack Nicholson's and definitely worthy of an Oscar.

If you couldn't tell, I'm extremely excited. I have already got my IMAX tickets for Saturday July 19.

I am as well and I personally never thought Jack Nichelson's Joker was all that good to be honest. It was too campy and cheesy. Ledger's seems much more in character, and to be honest I'm very impressed. I heard this movie is more exposition with focus placed more on Gordon, Dent, and Wayne, giving insight to their past and detailing how each plans to combat crime.
Can't fucking wait to see Two Face, and I hope they make a 3rd one. It's been rumored Nolan might not want to.

Same here. Thanks for the links to all the other clips/factoids as well, but it's only made me more psyched than I probably should be.

For Nolan not to do a 3rd movie would be a huge waste, as the superhero genre is pretty damn hot. I could understand why he'd want out, though.

No problem, I figured I should share my excitement. There are some more links (posted below) you might want to check out.

I think Nolan is probably on board for another sequel, but it's going to be hard, even for him, to top this.

Holy Shit! The day is finally upon us, the Dark Knight comes out in theaters tonight.

Excuse me while I change my boxers.

To help prepare you you for your first viewing here is more footage. There is some interesting stuff in here, about the actual film making process, particularly the 18 wheeler flipping over, and the difficulties shooting with an IMAX camera.

Watched it last night, tis fucking epic. The Joker was made of pure win same with Two-Face. Went on a bit longer than it could have and seemed to drag on at the end but was well worth it.

From the one or two reviews I have read. Heath Ledger's Joker is supposed to be one the absolute scariest son of bitchs in the history of movies.

Hey, is this one better than Batman Begins? I actually really didn't care for BB, so wonder if TDK is worth checking out? Also, did it have HBP as a trailer?

If you encounter ANYONE like the Ledger's Joker, then indeed, he would be the scariest son of a bitch. I don't want to give a spoiler, but the way he does things... fucking scary.

"I'm going to make this pencil... DISAPPEAR!"

That was a shock to me... Those who have yet to see the movie, I strongly recommend watching the IMAX version, it has some really nice scenes.
