Just wanted an excuse to post it again.

Seriously, the worse scene in the entire series is the one from OotP when Hagrid is explaining to Harry and friends about his adventures with the giants. To this day, I still cannot read that damn thing...so pointless...so painful...

Most of my top choices have already been listed. Still though, like everyone else...the epiloge, ron doing parseltoung, tonks character turning to crap.

But the one not listed that bothered me the most, was when Remus tried to tell Harry that this was war, and he needed to be using spells other than the disarming one...to which Harry goes all nobel and doesn't want to kill anyone. I honestly wanted to stop reading at that point as it was clear that Harry was just a useles do gooder.

On the good side, I have convinced myself that cannon ended at the end of book five. So anything after book five that JK wrote doesn't count. I mean it's not hard to convince myself either. I would be willing to swear that whoever wrote books 1-4, and parts of 5, is not the same person that wrote 6 and 7.

Despite Drajjen's lack of capitaliation, I have to say he's correct. Of all the scenes in the book, that is the one that takes to cake. It is the point we realize that Harry's tragic flaw is being dumb as a brick.

Btw, how does shooting a friendly crucio at Crowley support his kindly ideals?

    Same here.

Originally, I was going to list several hundred moments, stretching across two dozen pages, but in the end it proved simpler to post just two:

    1. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
    2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

    Thank you and good night.

There is wisdom in your words.

I must also state my utter loathing for the whole Remus/Tonks...'thing'. *shudders*

J.K Rowling has stated that she felt like she had to kill Remus and Tonks because she let Mr Weasley live in OotP. Come on now, Mr Weasley's had a good long run, and Moony is getting on a bit. Let the metamorph live...

And I've never understood why Harry seriously believes in Dumbledore as much as he does...he had, what, two or three conversations a year with the old fart from the ages of eleven to fifteen, maybe a dozen serious discussions in the final year? And that's enough to make him Dumbledore's Man?

I can't get over Tonk and Remus hooking up. Especially the end scene in HBP where Tonks throws here self crying onto Lupin saying something cheesy about not caring. Seriously if a guy expresses disinterest would a woman moan and obsess about for so long?

Come to think about it the whole scene in the hospital at the end of HBP was nauseating.

I had so hoped that JKR would not fall into the "love conqures all" crap but in the end she was not strong enough.

    THANK GOD FOR FANFICTION!!

I had forgotten about the Ron imitating parsletounge thing.. now that was probably the most retarded moment in all of the books. what was she thinking? that again is one of the numerous moments in Deathly hallows where Rowling uses lame and stupid excuses to fill in the plot.

All of my hated moments have been mentioned before but there is one more.

Harry helping Draco Malfoy! THAT is fucking bullshit! That guy almost killed Dumbledore and Harry, instead of letting him die, helps him!

Also the three Malfoys sitting in the Great Hall after Voldemort's death. WTF! Lucius is a known Death Eater and he just sits in the hall without getting himself killed?

I'll have to toss in my 2 cents for the exposition with Dumbledore and Harry in Limbo near the end of Deathly Hallows. I mean, Harry's supposed to have grown up to the point that he's an adult. Should he need a big, long, sappy, impossible chat with a dead guy's shade to get over the ambiguity and inconsistency of Dumbledore, his life, memory, influence on Harry? I found the "revert to kid mode and let Dumbledore provide answers to all the important questions" bit to be really unsatisfying, even worse than that Harry didn't take any serious initiative or develop much by way of redeeming qualities in the last couple books.

Most of the growth of Harry's character takes place invisibly in the summer between books 5 and 6. The only thing he had going for him ever was courage, but then he had that back in book 1.

Probably Ron destroying the horcrux.....really though since when has Ron been either motivated or talented enough to do anything of importance?

Another one is Voldemorts death....what self respecting dark lord would be killed with an expelliarmus? Sauron had to have his soul-thingy cast into a volcano in the heart of his territory, that's a pretty cool death, and Voldemort knows that Harry is weak compared to him, he knows that avada kedavra does not fucking work!
He could have used a cutting curse or some dark curse that would rend the flesh from Harry's bones.
After hitting him with an AK half an hour beforehand, you'd think he would get the hint and do it properly.

I can see that most people here don't like the epilogue -- I don't either. Although I only recently finished reading that book, I have forgot half of it.. I have a terrible memory. BUT! I do remember a part which made me going o_O and WTH?!: The scene with Ron's sudden heroic rescu. Just suddenly, he's there, to the rescu!, and then became the "chosen" of the Sword. Maybe I'm just a Harry Fangirl, but I do find this completely WTH?!? -- Harry has been the "chosen" in the second book, and now, suddenly, Ron became it in the place of Harry? Someone who has already got chosen?

...I have no idea what Rowling was thinking about but anyways...

Also, what the heck is with that chat with Dumbledore...? I just can't get that. Shouldn't Dumbledore be dead? What the heck is he doing there in the Limbo? ...I'm just confused. =s

The worst part of the whole series is Harry being sorted into Gryffindor. Canon!Harry is a Hufflepuff, and would have kicked way more ass as one. Harry is hard-working (cooking, cleaning, gardening for Dursleys), and he's the most loyal person in the whole series, look how he stayed friends with Ron for so bloody long, and how quickly he forgives Dumbles in Limbo. As a Puff, Harry would've actually done his schoolwork and practiced his spellcasting, rather then slack off and learn next to nothing. Sprout might've actually gone to bat for him with Dumbledore about Snape being an arsehole, because McGonagall certainly did shit-all. And, last but not least, Harry might have made more than two friends in the first four years of school, friends who would fill him in on all the traditions and practices he didn't know about the Wizarding World, which none of the Gryffs bothered with explaining.

And then he could have had a go at susan......because who does not love susan?

While a hufflepuff Harry does make sense to some extent the same could be said of slytherin or ravenclaw.....but JKR could not have that now could she?

The best match is Hufflepuff or Gryffindor.
He isn't ambitious enough to be a - smiley snake.
He isn't studious/smart enough to be Ravenclaw.

If Gryffindor wasn't the holiest best damn house in the book in JKRs eyes then Harry should be with the Puffs.

For me, the *worst* part was the mindless, aimless wandering around in the forest in DH. I skimmed it, and it was still boring. And irritating - a civil war, involving nearly everyone we've ever met, and we can't do anything useful? We're going to hunt down and destroy evil artifacts, but we can't destroy the one we have, and we can't figure out how to find any more.

The other most aggravating part was (of course,) that PATHETIC attempt at spying on Malfoy on the train. Am I the only one who thought that was embarrassingly inept?

Once again I find myself agreeing with The Doctor.... Books 6 and 7 were a huge let down... But, to pick the worst scene... It has to be every scene with Ginny in it in books 2+... One second he's like, "Ginny who?" and the next he's like, "HAVE MY BABIES!!!!1!!!one!!!" Ya know what? Half the friggen' Weasley family is completely off! Ginny is the insta-goddess. Ron is the "I'm completely incompetent until book 7!! WOOT! I bet I'll get to bone Hermoine before the series is up!" Mrs. Weasley is the insanely powerful house wife! (killing Bellatrix) And Arthur is the guy who killed Remus and Tonks! Well, not really but they were swapped out for him... Wow... I let myself get worked up, normally I'm so composed...

When Harry kisses Ginny in Book Six... I snapped. Yeah, 6 and 7 sucked, but that moment was when the suckiness reached its peak.

I still maintain Hermione received brain damage off-screen between OOtP and HBP. It's the only explanation for her loss of 50 IQ points, and wanting to impale herself on Ron.

I second that sentiment... Sigh... I had such high hopes for H/Hr... But I suppose my devotion to that ship all amounted to naught! Woe is me! What a cruel world we live in! Where an incompetent idiot with no talents at all except a slight talent at chess can prosper and get more chicks than the Chosen One of the world! How, can such a world exist?! Harry has like, crazy kung-fu jesus powers! Ok, no he doesn't... He's actually pretty weak... THANK GOD FOR FANFICTION!
