I never read it so I'll take your words on it, though I agree the apparition that combines elf popping, is now quite cliche, there is one story whose title eludes me at the moment which was DLP material, so the cliche is not with out merit.

 

No fair, it was one of the first fics I ever read when I got into fanfiction... And everyone knows that anything that happened over 6 weeks ago cannot be used in an argument . Otherwise the women would hold it over us for our entire lives XD.

Also, I don't think I actually got that far, just saw that quote in another thread somewhere. Cause I can't remember anyone firing Pure Love at good ol' Voldie... Then again, I treat my memory like a guide to how events really played out .

Yes and all too often it is a blunt object. Still though the only fic that breaks more Potter laws than Fates debt is Reign o'er me. That fic was a pile of horseshit.

Ah, yes, the Yoda-mentor, appearing from some faraway place and enthusiastically teaching Harry powerful techniques that have been held in complete secrecy for a thousand years. And there will be a lovely girl who, after being taught these abilities from the cradle, is NEARLY as skilled as Harry-after-a-summer-of-practice.

God I Hate Hate Hate Real People Fiction. If you are going to make up lies about someone, and then Publish Those Lies, why not get a job as a gossip columnist? Fanfiction is pushing the edge of respect for intellectual property as it is - but we (usually)do it out of love, we don't get paid, and no one Actually Gets Hurt. In fact, most reputable archives won't publish any stories that the author requests not be used in fanfiction. Writing stories about someone whose reputation is subject to damage is abusive. Remember Rita Skeeter? Anyone who thinks HER lies were "pure entertainment, not to be taken as fact," is lying to himself.
