Or you just Evanesco the stuff.

It takes sperm something like 19 hours to reach the egg - as long as you did it in a few hours, you'd be fine.

    * pathetically trying to protect my mucous membrane *

The nice thing about the accio spell is that it doesn't need much accuracy - just point in the right general direction. Evanesco requires much more ... er ... much closer ... more intrusive ... umm.

I think I'll take care of myself, thank you.

I've seen the explanation in one or two stories that it's very difficult to 'Accio' a wizard or witch's organs because of the magic (their own personal magic) present in their body. Meaning that someone as powerful as the big three (Albus, Voldemort, Harry) might be able to pull off the whole 'accio heart' scenario on someone who's magically weak but the odds of one of them doing it to each other is pretty slim. In that case the odds of the average Joe doing it to one of the big three would be nil.

Well, it's less traumatic than 'Accio Fetus' anyway. That's just irresponsible procrastination, pure and simple.

(Weird coincidence, I was just writing up a dark spell that induces a miscarriage. Not for a story, just to write a bit about ministry politics vis a vis spell legality and the unequal enforcement of said laws between purebloods and non-purebloods. I'll probably drop it in the spells thread later.)

I'll be watching for that one. It occurs to me that a woman's body might have a high resistance to spells that damage fertility.

A good point. That would actually go hand-in-hand with the idea of it being hard to summon a magical being's organs because of their inherent magic.

And, yeah, this spell would likely have to be pretty dark, specifically to counteract that resistance, even if it weren't dark in nature already. It requires some pretty vile intent, so we're not talking about ending a dangerous pregnancy or anything remotely merciful; just pure vindictive intent.

The shady pureblood families would have made use of it to weed out female babies, thus ensuring a first-born male or if they suspected the child would be inferior in some way or was the product of the wife's infidelity.

I appear to be slightly off topic.

Cruciovada - mixture of Avada Kedavra and Crucio. It makes people explode when they are hit with it.
I found it in a Polish fanfic. Typical shit, with teenaged female Mary Sue as the main character (btw a girl from Poland) who comes to Hogwarts and falls in love with Harry.
And her "dark secrete" is the ability to mix spells and create strange effects with it. Also she was Mcgonagall's niece.

God, can you imagine the response the old Pureblood families would have to THAT suggestion? Group marriages would certainly throw a monkey wrench into the "heir and a spare" approach that they seem to advocate.

Umm... I just verified it at m-w.com.
Polyamorous means "multiple romantic loves simultaneously," and implies long-term relationships. This would include heterosexual and homosexual lovers, with ALL the members being romantically involved with everyone else. Remember that generally marriage includes parenthood as a major goal. Heinlein's "line marriages" is an example, although he leaned heavily toward het (I don't remember ANY of the men being interested in each other, although "Friday" took a woman as a lover as well as several men.) The term for "one man with multiple WIVES" is polygamous.

If it's Harry-with-a-harem, WHY don't they say so?
    *irritated, and rolling eyes*

    Edited to add:
For that matter, which INCREDIBLY irresponsible author gave Harry (an indifferent student and one who is reliably careless with details,) a spell that gives Direct Access to someone's cerebral cortex? GodTheIdeaIsTerrifying!

    {Reply's drolly}

That would have been 'J.K.Rowling' when she made the apperently incredibly simple 'Oblivate'. Trust me, if lockhart can cast it, anyone can.
