I was more under the impression that they didn't like how the fifth movie ended up, and listening to the complaints, will write the seventh book in two parts. Fifth is the longest book in the series, and they probably figured that they could continue to do what they were doing(one movie for each book)

When it was finished, they probably realized their mistake, but no one is going to expect them to reshoot it, athough we probably would have all perfered it.

Sixth book, in my opinion, does not have enough content for two movies, and I believe the script was already written when they realized how much the fifth movie sucked.

 

They should, but we all know that they won't.

Pfft, if Rowling had any common sense, she could figure out that donating the profits from the second part to orphanages or something would get her a bit more good publicity, rather then raping her books with all the garbage she has been adding.

 

None of the HP books has enough content for two movies. WB could probably make them longer though, but that would reduce sales.

 

If any of the books deserved two movies, it was Order of The Phoenix.
Maybe Prisoner of Azkaban.

Deathly Hallows was pure ass as a book and will be twice as bad in movie form (or four times, if they split it up), unless they stray from canon by breaking up R/Hr and H/G, and then killing off every Weasely that has ovaries, or a name that rhymes with ron. Oh, wait a second!

HBP sucked balls too, but at least it has the decency to restrict its fetid, brain dead putrescence to a single movie.

I'd kind of feel sorry for the principal actors if they weren't getting filthy god damned rich off these movies*.

I don't give a shit about the movies. Not going to watch any of them. I'll just fall asleep soundly in the theater. Well... OoTP did that to me.

Does any of you know that Yahoo!Review gives FIVE stars for the goddamned fifth movie? Incredibly overrated, I'd say.

DH as one long movie? I wouldn't even bother to buy the tickets. I mean a 3-hour DH would be kinda okay, but a 5-hour one? All those hours spent watching a movie that I know ends in an Expelliarmus and a vomit-inducing Happily-Ever-After. No thanks.

 

Not many children or parents(the prime audience) is going to want to sit in the same movie theatre for four - five hours, I wouldn't either for that matter.

 

50 bucks says the second movie will be padded to high hell with an "expanded" epilogue full of OMG NEW REVELASHUNS

 

Frankly, after the last book came out and seeing the horror that was OoTP in the big screen, I don't think even Spielberg could save Harry Potter.

 

Maybe he couldn't save it, but it'd sure be a bit more interesting if he directed it.

 

Anyone care to bet that now that JKR went and made that shit up about Dumbledore being gay that we'll be treated to two movies where THAT is the central plot that they hammer on. That Dumbledore was GAY.
Not a movie about Harry potter... no.. it'll be about the dead Gay Headmaster of a children's school and how he was such a misunderstood person (all the rita skeeter garbage in the book will take the spotlight front and center)

I'll bet good solid cash that that is what Hollyweird will focus on to the exclusion of the main storyline.

That and I'll bet that we'll see Snape being painted as a freaking martyr... maybe even showing him watching as Lily walks off with James Potter (cue the sad emo music) and remembering their childhood friendship and how they used to hold hands on the beach(gotta have some made up shit that's not in the books to satisfy the screenwriters ego).. implying that James STOLE Lily away from poor misunderstood... greasy Severus.

If this is what happens... I may have to burn down the theaters where its showing.

 

No.. you're wrong. You see, Spielberg will make a fantastic movie, it will just look great.
What you have to do now is to buy a pair of noise canceling headphones, go to the movie theater, watch the movie and as the movie starts, improvise the plot in your head.
Either that, or buy the dvd and watch it in French with subtitles in Spanish.
Now if you know French, Spanish, and English... you're on your own.

Also, I wonder how they will do the ending. Will they use Radcliffe to do his fictional adult self, or will they hire some poor bastard to play Harry as an adult?

Failing that, I think they could still be cast as Inferi.

 

It's to accommodate the extended flashbacks of Dumbledore's past along with an intense scene of young Albus getting deep-cored by his sweaty, blond loverboy, Gellert (or as they call him back in the hood, Pimp Daddy Double-G).

Then there's the new part where Albus tries to pretend Ariana isn't dead, a la Weekend at Bernie's, by dragging her corpse all over the place and posing it by hand because, you see, he's not willing to turn it into an inferius (not unlike JKR picking over the corpse of her creation and finding new ways to desecrate it). Because we all know that no matter what harm you inflict on people (hi, Harry!), as long as it's for good reasons and you don't use dark magic, it's okay.

Anyway... Aberforth finds out and wacky hijinks ensue.
