...We're talking about Naruto fans here. Most don't have the attention span to think ahead. They're creative and come up with cool ideas, but lack the forethought to use them.

Hell, Kishimoto himself lacks the forethought to truly use all of his amazing ideas. He has his own version of ADD, he makes new characters and powers every fucking second, but can rarely come up with cool ways to implement them.

Which is why, IMHO, it pisses me off when people remove the concept of teamwork, CLEVER teamwork, from fics. Naruto+Sasuke v Zabuza was by far the most creative and clever fight of the series, if you discount Shikamaru's battles.

 

I found this author a while ago:

He has four stories running at the moment, all of which are updated regularly, well-written, and fairly good. They're also original, or at least they lack most clichés (either that or I haven't run across those yet).
I think An Uzumaki Amongst the Dunes has the most potential right now. Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy them.

 

Well figured I would post of list of a few stories I've read recently that I didn't see on the list.

This one was a very good story, and you really don't have to know anything about Assassin's Creed to understand it. Only problem for me is it feels to short, but the author seems to be updating it frequently.

This seems to be a well done story so far, with out making Naruto out to be too super powered. It does follow the canon really closely but I can ignore that.

Last story. This one isn't as good as the other two (it contains a few to many cliches) but it is a decent read if you are bored.

Oh and I just noticed all the stories I but up have 5 chapters, strange.

It shouldn't be very hard to figure out who became Yondaime, there were only two candidates... Anyway, a pretty realistic take (in my opinion) on what Konoha would be with Orochimaru as its leader.

 

Great time passer. It takes place within canon, just after Naruto completes his Rasenshuriken. Well written Naruto. Actually, this is one of my favorite Canon!Naruto's to date. Only 20k words thus far, but it could turn into a very promising fic if the author decides to step out of the boundaries of the canon time line, and alters it.

 

Will of Fire

A Naruto/PG crossover. Normally I would be hesitant to post this type of story, especally on a site like DLP, but even the diehards here would be forced to admit that this author has an insane amount of potential.

Edit: Fuck! Nevermind, the story hasn't been updated since '06. Damn it, I LIKED this one too!

This one has caught my eye. It has a manipulative Naruto and a Fanatical Hinata, but Sasuke is still up in the air, but it has a focuse on team work and Naruto is kick ass, but still a smear on the sidewalk compaired to the Hokage.

It certainly would be interesting to see a story where power does not come from the individual, but the team. Naruto gets owned when he's alone, but when he's in a group, he's capable of taking down jounin (or at least injuring them).

I'm surprised to not see this here:

While this skirts the limits of Super!Naruto at times, I think the author does a fairly decent job of balancing it all out, IMHO. A nice read and a much better update rate than 90% of FFnet authors.

 

I read this one a while ago, it starts out nice... but then it's ruined when he starts learning how to do way too much stuff. I can understand the training, but smithing/tailoring? It was funny until he started exaggerating...

The update rate was great though.

Yeah, I liked it, even with all the extra stuff, until he started adding uber!cliches. (Like Naruto with Fox parts.)

 

A) The update rate is good.
B) All the things he can do is ridiculous.
C) The Massage/Marriage Proposal has become painful to read.
D) Last I read he was talking to Tsunade about a Bloodline Transplant Operation (What Rin did with Kakashi and Obito) which means more Super!Naruto.
E) Ignoring the FoxParts!Naruto that was the general time the fic started sliding from fun and an excellant read to painful and repetitive.
F) This fic has been posted and dicussed before.

It's the guy behind The art of the deal. He dabbles in HP/Naruto/Bleach verses and most of them are top notch quality. Just too bad he never seems to stick to one and finish it.
