Amanda sure flicked her hair a lot in the first scene. And smoothed down various bits of clothing. And flicked her eyes to various parts of her and Harry's bodies. And was rather fidgety in general.

She doesn't have a thing for Harry, does she?



In all fairness, I understand what you were aiming for with the commentary on Amanda - showing how Harry makes her nervous, and does all those things girls do when they're around boys they like, like fiddling with their hair etc. I think you may have overdone it though: Amanda is twitching enough to be mistaken as Mad-Eye Moody in that scene.

But yeah, 'twas some good Harry-Amanda interaction. I'm still a Harry/Meciel shipper, but I'm not opposed to a bit of Harry/Amanda action too. I think Harry should start with Amanda, and then graduate to Meciel when he wants a more mature, equal relationship rather than having fun with a girl who has a crush on him.

Speaking of Meciel...

Wasn't she supposed to be naked about now? Even if you weren't going to show it, I'd expect at least some mention or reference to it...

 

I'm wondering about that too, did the Meciel naked happen yet or do we just assummed it did?

The beginning was a bit odd in that you did not mention what spell Amanda was practising? You mentioned that it was an auror-level spell but I dont think you ever actually said WHAT spell it was? Or did I miss it?

What was it that Harry was doing to Amanda? Was it legilimency or some spell similar to that? I have often wondered why Harry does not practise that. Spying on the thoughts of people like Malfoy and Umbridge would seem just his style. Especially with Meciel helping him. Not to mention having Harry try to probe Snapes mind would be rather funny considering their first meeting.

I liked the interaction between Amanda and Harry here too. I am more of a Harry/Amanda shipper than Harry/Meciel one. Meciel is cool and all but somehow I like the friendship between Harry and Amanda. It is far less ambigious than the relationship with Meciel and serves as a good contrast I think. Besides Meciel is a bit too old for Harry. I think I prefer it when she remains more of a mentor to him.

I also like these momentary scenes when Harry is shown to have a decent sides like when he said that that Amanda made a good effort. Harry being an asshole can be fun but it can get a bit boring if he is like that constantly so these scenes where he is kind to Amanda are nice touch.

What was up with Harry not remembering what he said yesterday even after Amanda reminded him of it? Was it just some random humor (it was a bit funnny) or was it supposed to signify something deeper? I mean were you trying to show that Harry has some memory problems due to Meciel taking so much room in his brain or something like that? Or am I seeing more than what was there?

The scenes with Malfoy and Umbridge were perhaps "less deep" but they were hilarious nevertheless. When did Harry learn to pick pockets? Is that something Meciel taught him. In any case I laughed at these scenes, especially when Umbridge said that the ministry had no balls. That was brilliant. I am also greatly looking forward to finding out what Harry plans to do to Umbridge and how Malfoy's wand fits into it.

I agree with Taure, while the Harry/Amanda might be amusing for a while I just don't see it developing into an equal relationship. With Meciel he can actually have a relationship, and not just a fling with someone who has a crush on him.

I honestly tried not to laugh, but I was unsuccessful.

 

I don't think it was anything. Harry was just pretending not to remember. Shezza's just saying that Harry doesn't care or know what the Ministry's aims are. It was all just a means to convincing the DA to follow his instruction.

 

But I did. Dont worry I laughed its all good.

 

Many of you seem to want to deepen Harry's investment in Meciel. Make him even more reliant and emotionally dependent on her...

How do you handle a relationship break up with someone who lives inside your head? What's going to happen when Shezza eventually takes away Harry's crutch by removing Meciel with seemingly no hope of regaining her (no temporary cuffs)?

...What if God isn't playing a redemption trick on Harry, what is he's playing one on Meciel? If Meciel's in her heaven, and all's right with the world, who will keep Harry happy and above ground? He needs to have better relationships wth others if he's ever going to survive a future split with Meciel without becoming a bitter, twisted, lonely, and likely dead man.

Harry just acts like an independent!Harry. He's really not.
