For the second part of the spoiler.... that's dead wrong. You CAN'T die from Genjutsu. Itachi controls the most powerful Genjutsu in existence. He 'killed' Kakashi with it mutiple times yet all Kakashi got was a coma and a killer hangover.

As for why Naruto has greater control over the Kyuubi's chakra I would refer you to Orochimaru's comments in the Forest of Death. Kyuubi and Naruto are merging. As the seal weakens, it gives Naruto greater control but the Kyuubi greater freedom/influence.

 

I wouldn't be so sure of that if I were you.

Sasuke took off his robe and headband last chapter.

People that take off their robes or cloaks before fighting or during a fight have not been faring well in Naruto Part II. That's usually one of the big signs of them entering defeat mode.

Also, if Itachi isn't fighting for real... then that means he doesn't think he has anything to fear from Sasuke.

I'd suggest you go back to Naruto issues 16 and 17 and re-read them.

Itachi stated he has complete control over the Tsukuyomi world and he even stated it. "Within the Realm of Tsukuyomi ... space...time...evertything... is under my control. For the next 72 hours I will continually stab you with these katanas". So he STABBED Kakashi for 72 hours in the Tsukuyomi world. If he has that much control, he can control death itself in the illusion. Which is what he did. Itachi made sure he didn't kill him... he just tortured him for 72 hours in the blink of an eye.

I'll reserve judgement until more is revealed, but I do know for a fact that Sasuke won't die.

 

I'd like to offer up anouther theory:

Before this fight, didn't Itachi put one of Naruto's KB's under a genjutsu?

We know the sharigan(sp?) can't tell the difference between KB's, so is it possible that he's using the same technique that he and Kisame used during the Garra arc, thinking he has the origional Naruto?

We know that he wanted Sasuke to follow his path.

 

I'm pretty sure you can only die in a genjutsu if someone kills you in the physical world while you are trapped. Tayuya's genjutsu required her to go and stab Shikamaru. If Itachi could kill just by looking at you, Kakashi would be dead. Why would he ever want to leave such a powerful foe alive? Especially when the use of the eyes degrades eyesight.

Itachi's genjutsu is vague. He says space/time, but it's all an illusion. The pain is real, but no physical damage is done (perhaps to the brain, though).

 

Only to the brain, as all it affects is your mind.

 

Everything is releated to the brain. the most important function that keeps the body togather. Pain, phycally and emotionally, emotions and so on and so on. Genjutsu is probebly the most dangerous of all three if one uses correctily in my opinion.

Seriously. If this is what we're going to have for the first half of the year I'm out of here. This fight is nothing more than a huge load of horseshit, in a cool box, wrapped up with a nice red ribbon. It's attractive?, yes, but it stinks.

Jesus, at least in the Sasuke/Deidara fight, even with all its unreality, we had action. This is just plain dull. It's just like the both of them are saying "Look at my balls, they're bigger than yours..."

 

I'm not really interested in the fight, but merely the implications of the fight. Everything Sasuke has done up to this point has been in preparation for this fight. He's abandoned his home, sacrificed his friends... he has nothing now, except for a band of psycopaths. I want to see when all his hopes and dreams get crushed like an ant under my boot.

Even though that might not happen...

But anyway, you'll know when things get serious when Sasuke uses that damned curse seal.

A lot of people say that the cursed seal is borrowed power, but I think of the Mangekyou Sharingan in the same light, at least Itachi's version. He didn't push himself to new levels like Madara or Kakashi... he just killed his best friend. If that isn't cheap, then I don' know what is.

 

Problem is that Itachi's mangekyo is making him lose his vision, which makes the mangekyo handicapped. On the other hand Sasuke has the curse seal which to him has no flaws, despite the fact that it is canon that lvl 2 tires a person out. Sasuke has mastered lvl 2 so that he can use it without the exhaustion most people get when using it.

If Sasuke awakens the mangekyo sharingan at any time during the manga then it will be an official super powered character manga.

 

I seriously doubt that Sasuke will either get the Mangekyou Sharingan this fight, or that he'll even win this fight.

Remember, Kishimoto said that this year 2008 will focus on Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi.

If Sasuke beats itachi, the main goal for his character in the manga is over.

If that's the case, then what'll be the reason to focus on him this year?

Without a real goal... there's no reason to grow or focus on him anymore.

Therefore, Sasuke's not going to win. The fight will either be interrupted, or Sasuke will lose and be forced to finally find his own strength... and stop relying onthe Sharingan and the curse seal.

 

Actually, the cursed seal does have it's draw backs. There can't be given a power without a price. There is a reason why the it's called Cursed seal. Otherwise it's a free power.

The only thing i want to see in this series is Itachi geting crushed knowing that for all the years of waiting, for all the manipulating he has done, i want to see him die a slow painfull death. You know what...thats too easy. I want to see him being blind. Knowing he can't fight back because of his blindness. Forget sasuke. Itachi all the way.

 

That's what they say...I've yet to see a drawback.

Being perfectly honest here when I was first introduced to Naruto, back when it started I didn't think much of Naruto. I just couldn't see him as the main character being the retard that he was and still is. Back then I thought, Why the hell isn't Sasuke the main character?

Then you two overlook things thats right in front of you. The cursed seal is a form of power that lets Oro control them as his slaves the more they use it. Not to mention the fact that the cursed seal pulls in all the chakra that practically kills the users body, Oro had to make a special type of drug and with the help of sound 4, it stablizes. Thus, giving the user a twisted form of chakra power kinda like Akuma from Street fighter. It's a huge risk using this because it can cripple your mind and degenerate your body.

What do ya know, this reminds of the part where the villagers scorned and hated Naruto when he was younger.

Now it's the opposite where the audiance is ripping on Sasuke for being too greate. Damn, this is too funny. And i still believe that there is going to be an anti climatic battle between Naruto and sasuke where Naruto humiliates Sasuke and comes out on top.

This is purely a fanon concept. If it was canon, Orochimaru would have used that to stop Sasuke from killing him. The only reason Orochimaru is even remotely alive at this point is because Kabuto's a bit too loyal.

The chakra does have to come from somewhere, but we've all seen from the Sasuke vs Deidara fight that Sasuke is apparently immune to chakra exhaustion. He pulled some nice stuff at the end, there, despite being out of chakra. Add to that, after the fight he had how long before he went off to fight Itachi?

Judging from the fact that the Sharingan randomly gained the ability to control the Kyuubi fairly recently...yeah, Kishimoto gave Sasuke free power. He's done it before, it shouldn't surprise you like this.

The manga was named Naruto originally because it was about Naruto, originally. It isn't about Naruto anymore, in case you haven't noticed.
