It was one of those Harry is inspired by anime stories, the inspiration was DBZ's Majin Buu.

According to my research, the incantation 'Sterilo' causes the target to become unable to reproduce. If the caster overpowers this spell though, it can cause partial or full castration.

    Defenistrato

While an awesome idea for a spell, it really needs, oh, a proper name and not just tacking an o onto the end.

Castration spells in general are stupid, because the purebloods would be furious at the use since, some one has probably made this arguement, they in canon the 'pure', i.e. non blood traitor, families would not want say a mudblood being able to end the line with such a simple spell.

And really, they wouldn't be such a simple matter. It'd probably me a rather secret mediwizard spell.

Now, that all said, I could see some inventive mudblood creating a variant of the Severing Curse (or the Cutting curse, either works) that is cast using 'Castrato' and has about what you'd expect for effects.

But that belongs more in a comedy fic, or at the very least a fic that pokes fun at the incantation.

"Castrato?" "Well, I had to think of something, and it seemed appropriate." "Hermione, Castrato isn't even a word." "Well of course it's not a word, but it works." *Aims wand* "Fine, fine, whatever."

"So, are you going to stop your pathetic, juvenile attempts to ask me out, Ronald Weasley?"

    *groans*

"Good, because I have a hot date with Daphne Greengrass. She's in my Arithmancy class and isn't like most Slytherins, an interesting tidbit that has been revealed here after four books and multiple interviews by Rowling."

    "Sup Herms."

    *Lesbian cunnilingus*

"Hey Daph. Have you ever heard of 'breaking the fourth wall'?"

    Couldn't resist.:p

Yeah dude I don't like Hermione, and I hate Ron, and the general pansy Harry is in canon.
Any 'improvement' or development of a psuedo Unforgivable curse, or super Patronus, any super spell.

... kidnap all the fucking retards and fangirls, yaoi or otherwise, and put them on island and then launch an SS-20 Saber at the island.
Seriously though, it got gay after the first five authors to use it...

I was wondering if we could expand this thread to add 'Fanfictions most terrible potions'

Because I just saw a potion that is basically a super one time use steroid and it was just as powerful as any golden dementoid slaying patronus, it practically changed scrawny weak Harry into Arnold the Governator.

I can't say I've ever read any paticularly awfull spells. Though I do see a whole bunch of fics where Harry uses reducto for everything from battling death eaters to opening a tin of catfood.

I hate that. Reducto is like the can-opener/Topol M to some people.

Come to think of it, Potions DON'T get used enough in fanfiction. I've seen A Lot of more-or-less creative spells, but potions only seem to be used creatively in Weasley pranks. There aren't any new and exciting and different potions that have permanent effects.

I'm trying to remember the potions list in my D&D handbook. There were potions that boosted strength, and gave one temporary abilities to detect things: det evil/good, det magic, det undead. I *think* there were potions that improved hearing.

Why would you do that with potions when you could use them to get Snape to grow a pair of balls on his forehead :p
