- SLASH (harry having babies?? who the hell came up with this????)
- Angst Harry - cutting, suicidal, rape, mutilated, I dont read those shit,
- Also emotional Harry, one minute his ok, next his breaking down and comforted by ginny, or snape. (I read a fic where Harry was all independent, next moment he remembers the past, where dursley say his worth of crap, then breaks down, ginny, hermione and molly comfort him, jesus christ, if there was a ever a pussy harry, this harry would be the pussiest of them all. stopped reading the damn fic after that).
- Also sirus or snape harry bilogical dad or anyone else for that matter
- harry/ginny

 

Instant Fail = the following:
- British people don't cripwalk. Ever.
- 90's/Pop music in Marauder era (70's).
- People not recognizing Harry because he wears a bandana and gets fucking contacts. Don't be gay.
- Using parseltongue on dragons.
- Harry as an anime character.
- Anything Kinsfire-esque.
- Making Goblins matter.
- Making the Dursleys matter.
- Yule Balls.
- Harry's shopping expeditions taking more than 1-2 paragraphs in a story.

I was a resident of LA during the '92 riots. There is NOTHING friendly or loving about the Crips or the Bloods. The Dragons were mostly Chinatown (obviously,) but the Crips and Bloods were active, violent gangs in west and central LA. We aren't talking about teenies who thought a tattoo made them tough, either. I can't remember the statistics anymore, but those gangs were run by grownups and were responsible for a lot of the drive-by shootings, kidnap-and-wastes, and some huge percentage of the hard drug trade all up and down the lower west coast.
I was a non-resident student at the time; CSULB was closed for about four days. It was the first time I actually saw cops wearing body armor and carrying those wide-mouthed rifles. You know, the ones that fire non-lethal projectiles ... um... bean bags, I think. You couldn't get away from the smoke in the air, the phones were down, the fire department would put out building fires and then some jerk would restart them after the fire trucks left. I *saw* a man up on a building (maybe four stories up) with a rifle, firing into the crowd.

 

Anything not up to DLP's standards.

 

When has c-walk ever been in a fanfic? That's very slightly disturbing for reasons I can't quite articulate.

Harry who makes an account for the homeless/oppressed/orphans etc. and then you never hear about this investment ever again.

 

Harry making it in the first place, or Harry giving a shit about the downtrodden.

 

I can see a post-War Harry adopting an orphan or two - he's always yearned for a family, and if he isn't afraid that he won't be a good parent, I wouldn't be surprised by taking in someone who needs him.
I CAN NOT see him simply throwing money at the problem.

That may be true but Harry didn't grow up rich, he needs to indulge in using his money for his own greed, let the rest of the world go fuck itself.
Which is why Harry saving the world because 'he's a good guy' pisses me off so much.

 

But Harry grew up poor in SO many ways. The lack of money hardly made an impression; he was starving for affection. It doesn't matter how hungry you are if you haven't had anything to drink for a couple of days.

 

While on the topic of money, one of the most infuriating ones I've encountered a few times:

Where Harry signs over all (or a large portion) of his money to the Weasley's. Fuck that. It should be a Potter Law that the Weasley brood shall never see one knut of Harry's money.

I don't really mind the fics where the Weasley's steal from Harry because he usually ends up taking glorious revenge on them, but fics where Harry is the Weasley's bitch (usually H/G) and he just gives them mass money, drives me into a berserker rage.

 

I'm against him giving any one money most especially if they have stolen from him in the past.
