That Mordecai is where I merged the TV series and the books a bit.

In the books, Dresden's master was Justin (Last name? I can't look it up right now). That is the same character in the TV series butthere Justin is his maternal uncle having the surname Morningway.

    Other obvious merged elements:

Karrin Constanza Murphy - I have made her first name from the TV series her middle name. She is also a brunette like the tv series unlike the blond she is in the books. I was introduced to the show first so that's why it stayed with me.

Bob - is the spirit of an imprisoned warlock, who had in life been nearly invincible, according to the TV series. He, like the books, is a hound dog.

The story is set pre- Storm Front. So Dresden's power levels are not up to where they are by the 8th and 9th books.

Dresden's first master was Justin DuMorne.

The TV Series fails in comparison to the actual books but I might be slightly biased since I think I've watched about two episodes of The Dresden Files but have read a book a day of the actual books :D

Not a bad chapter, Nuhuh. Charity certainly got what she deserved - ahhh how I hate her for being rude to Mr. Dresden.

Also ... I <3 Dresden, so ship him with anyone undeserving and feel my wrath.

I assume that having an office of Wardens in Chicago, and having Ancient Mai living in Chicago is part of the TV verse as well?

Might be part of the TV verse, I honestly don't know. But with the resources at their command its also entirely likely that they all flew in overnight because something serious is going down. They can't apparate, but I bet they own (or rent) really fast planes.

No, White Council wizards can't even use a modern elevator. What makes you think something as tech-heavy as a modern jet would work for them?

They'll probably, at least when traveling in larger numbers, organise safe passage through the Nevernever.

Yeah, I don't think we've ever seen much teleportation as far as Dresdenverse goes. Yeah, sure, Morgan might have been able to do it, but then maybe he could just fly really fast or something.

I haven't really read much of the Dresden Files, so my bad for not knowing about the elevators.

And I think its stated earlier in the story that (at least in the story) Morgan doesn't teleport, just make everyone think he isn't there and reappear elsewhere mysteriously.

The Morgan thing is TVverse. He explains it to Dresden in the second last episode. As for them travelling It's always assumed that they go via the nevernever.

It was TV, Things That Go Bump, as I recall.

Mai never actually answers, but she certainly insinuates that she might be a dragon.

In the book, I think she's all human though. Or at least, no evidence otherwise.

It needs more action in my opinion.

Great update nuhuh. I would give constructive criticism, but I didn't spot any errors.
It was funny seeing the effect of the fidelius on Murphy and Dresden, and I'm curious to see how Michael will react to Harry taking the coin.
4/5 'cos it isn't finished yet.

Solid writing. There's nothing wrong with your plot and characters. Michael showing up to rescue Dresden was well executed. I could see it coming and was delighted when it happened.

The only problem I have is the couple of times you seem to attack the fourth wall. Dresden refers to the narrator inside him, and mocks his own internal monologuing which we the reader are actually reading. It comes too close to the fourth wall and jarred me from the fic both times. It reminded me that I was reading a fanfic rather than being immersed in the fantasy.

    Excellent writing as always,

    Yak.

I don't really like the whole "taking the coin thing" strictly speaking, couldn't she try to take over his body, at some point when he was weak? And now he's acting all submissive to her, kind of ticks me off.

I'm confused, whats the little girl doing in the scene, where did she come from? I don't wanna reread previous chapters, I hope someone will indulge my request for clarification.

You don't want to use your own time but you're happy to waste ours?

It's at the very end of the last chapter. My kindness quota is now overdrawn.
