I really don't mind having a kid in the story like this. Throughout this entire I was laughing my ass off at the whole situation, especially the chicken remark. I trust that this is not some random insert by Shezza and that he has a plan -- if the rest of the series is any indication this will turn out well.

 

That would be awesome. Although I imagine that since that is the Council's home turf (Scotland), Harry'd get pwnt trying to pull of the ritual itself. Grevane had an army of zombies, Capiorcorpus had her/his spirits, and Cowl just kicked everyone's ass and they still fucked up.

 

Yeah, but you're forgetting Betty the zombie T-Rex. Who needs a hoard of flesh eating human corpses when you can just have one big dinosaur instead . That has to be my second favourite part of the Dresden Files series, below Harry going mental and burning all the vampires in Grave Peril.

I laugh at the thought of a winter fae being fucking fluffy. Go read The Dresden Files before you can even dare to say they are any sort of fluffy. Dresden's own fairy Godmother hunts him down and tries to turn him into a freaking dog and that is only becuase she likes him to boot.

Who knows, maybe his daughter might become the new Winter Lady as Mab has been suspected of going batshit insane in Proven Guilty I think, time for Maeve to step up methinks.

 

it will be interesting to see what shezza does from here. IMO i say harry should get knights of the cross in contact with ootp and formally become allies and then after 5th year is over he should make some acquintances/friends/allies with white court vampires and since he is somewhat friends with maeve and she might soon become winter court queen that gives his side of the war some support in winter court and also if he can get his daughter to fully support him by the end of 5th year then when she becomes winter lady he will have even more support from winter court. Also since dumbledore is friends with fawkes and dresden is associates with lily the summer court lady that will get some support for them from summer court also. It should be a 3 sided war Order of the Phoenix/Knights of the Cross/Winter Court/Summer Court(summer and winter workin together OMFG)/White Court Vamps(maybe with support from dresden also but behind the scenes so white council doesnt know) Vs Vespers Order/Voldermorts Death Eaters/Red Court Vamps/Renegade Fae Vs White Council(nobody likes them).

When Cess said she got orders, she didn't say who from. And she told him "Remorsefully". Unless of course that was a crazed delusion, I think it might be grounds to say she's a traitor. No as if she wanted to, but because of some sort of Faerie deal.

 

Why would a traitor want Harry to save Amaris and Maeve? Wouldn't it be easier to block out all exits and kill them trapped inside their own fortress. It's not like they didn't have an army to do the job. They could, of course, want Harry dead too but he could be killed by the same army in the same fortress.

Then again, Shezza didn't leave those hints for nothing... If they are actually hints.

 

I figured the remorse Cess felt was because she could not fully take part in the battle because she had to escort Harry. She is a nasty bloodlusting little thing who enjoys carnage afterall. There is also the fact that Maeve says that she is glad her servant(who has to be Cess) was able to acquire Harry's services, implying that the orders to Cess came from her.

It is strange the way Cess vanished however. First I thought that Shezza simply forgot her but there was no mention of her even after people mentioned her so now I am no longer sure. Though if her disappearance was planned then why is it that neither Harry or Maeve wonder where she disappeared to. I would actually have expected her to come with the group to Hogwarts and maybe stay with Amaris so that she could report to Maeve about whats going on or something.

Now that made my day as well as Harry trying to teach his daughter how to swear

 

I liked the way Harry and Amaris interacted. It is quite like I expected actually with Harry sortof being concerned for her and teaching her. However the fact that the first things Harry taught her were how to swear, never to apologize and if caught to kill your captor and escape, pretty much make it clear that being a father wont suddenly turn Harry into a mature and good-hearted adult. Hopefully you have eased the fears of most people with that.

Why was Meciel so silent when Harry was trying to explain what fuck meant? Was it because she did not want to interfere between Harry and Amaris? That was a bit odd.

A question: Does Amaris know that Harry is a denarian? I mean Maeve did mention Meciel so it would make sense that she would. I almost expected Amaris to blurt it out when discussing memory. Meciel's memory is probably superiour even to Amaris afterall and Amaris probably does not realise that that is something best kept secret.

Anyway, so far atleast I atleast dont find Amaris to be in any way annoying. Infact I found the "bonding " between Harry and her quite hilarious! I have faith that you will be able to turn her into an interesting character in her own right without wrecking Harry in any way.

PS. I always enjoy Dumbledore/Harry conversations so I for one would enjoy any added dialogue.

 

Huh, imagine the look on Maeve's face when Amaris tells her about her "fucking wonderful" stay at Hogwarts.
