Easy, most of 2008 the manga will have Sasuke wandering around singing and dancing to show tunes about how his life has no more purpose now that he has completed his quest.

 

That pretty much sums up my feelings on this chapter. Also have to love how Amaterasu was changed since it's last appearance in the Itachi vs Jiraiya fight just so that Sasuke could live.

If the villain has been set up as being too fucking awesome to kill, 90% of the time the author will gimp him rather than boosting the "hero".

Do you really think Naruto, at this point in time, has the skill/power to kill... well... any villain? Zabuza was gimped, Kimmimaro was gimped, Gaara was gimped, Sasori was gimped, Kakuzu was gimped, Hidan was gimped, Itachi is being gimped, Orochimaru was hyper-gimped. Kishi doesn't like giving his main characters realistic improvements. He'd rather just give them more raw power and have his villains suddenly become retarded.

 

Er, what? I can understand from Sasori onwards, but the Part I villains were awesome. I still go back and reread the Wave Arc cause Haku and Zabuza are some of my favourite characters. Gaara, in his final battle with Naruto, was everything I'd expect of a jinchuuriki and the fights before that were very well done. Then the epic battle with Sasuke at the Valley of the End - that is probably my favourite fight in the whole manga. The Sound Five were good enemies, and Kimmimaro just proved how powerful cursed seal shinobi can be. Also, Drunken!Lee kicks ass .

Part II... Well, less said about that the better. Everyone from Orochimaru to Itachi himself have been gimped to make way for Sasuke, and possibly Naruto, if Kishimoto even thinks of him anymore.

imo, the ultimate gimp was Kazuki. I don't know how dumb he must have been to fall for a genin trick like that. Does being immortal mean anything anymore? One would think that being able to fight the First Hokage, and live for decades would require a level of power and intelligence far above a genin, chunin or even jounin...

 

I don't think Zabuzu was gimped. He fought a hard long battle with Kakashi, a ninja that made jounin before he started puberty. Kimmimaro? He was dying and it took one super genin and a jinchuuriki to take him down. I didn't read or watch the fight though, so I really don't know, but Zabuza was kick ass.

And Kakuzu made a simple mistake. If he had lived beyond that point, he would have realized how simple Naruto's attack was, but he assumed he knew what Naruto was doing, and you know what they say about assuming. Kakuzu, an immortal hundred year old, got overconfident fighting against a teenage Genin. Now that I think about, it's not at all hard to believe.

 

My purpose for asking my question was, if Itachi got Sasuke's eyes, could he not simply force them to evolve as he has already fufilled the requirement. And going with people's answers I would have to say yes he could.

A) I think LogrusMage meant the Naruto/Sasuke vs Zabuza part.

B) Zabuza wouldn't have removed his hand form the Water Prison technique. He would have simply used the over-sized shuriken in his other hand ot block the kunai.

 

Kalas... that's a hell of a leap from the sharingan evolving due to emotional stress to saying that Itachi could just take his eyes and evolve them himself.

But to answer your questionof whether or not that could be done... No fucking way!

Look. it's simple common sense... If Itachi could evolve them himself.. he'd have just damn well taken then when Sasuke was a kid (eyes are one of the things that grow very little in a person as they age... which is why kids have big eyes) I mean he had tons of time to take them after he killed his parents. Second, he could have taken them from Sasuke in the hotel for that matter (When he curb stomped Sasuke). But again... he didn't take them.

Why?

Because... look at the Madara and his brother story. Both of them acquired the MS before Madara did the transplant thingy. That implies that both brothers MUST have achieved the MS on their own.

This also explains why Itachi has such a hardon for Sasuke to get it. He told him to get the MS when he was leaving after having killed the clan..

Zetsu: Ah, I figured as much! There's no way to dodge it then, indeed. Lightning falls in one onethousand of a second. It's faster than even sound!

サスケ「術の名は麒麟。」

Sasuke: It's called "Kirin" (Giraffe). (Edit: Doh! Yeah, it as a few posters below have pointed out, it's also a mythological creature. In my defense, it is technically the same word (kanji and all), but that would imply giraffes are named for Kirins - and not the other way around.)

サスケ手を天にかざす！竜の形をした雷がイタチを襲う！

Sasuke raises his hand to the heavens. Lighting the shape of a dragon falls in Itachi's direction.

サスケ「雷鳴と共に散れ！」

Sasuke: May your last breath be choked by thunder!

Note: Lit. "Die as this lightning thunders." Kinda. Doesn't translate well into English, obviously, as it's a bit of a pun. 散る is to fall, as leaves fall from a tree, and thus metaphorically, to die. It also means to fall, scatter, and thus spread, which is what thunder, like any sound, does. I think that's what he means, anyway. This is why people are having trouble with the line, of course, but the point I want to make is that he's just saying "DIE YOU S.O.B!", albeit really dramatically.

イタチにヒット！イタチ倒れる。

Sasuke: It's over alright!

Note: If I'm not mistaken, the character 術, which is indeed read "jutsu" most of the time, is meant here to be read as "sube", which means "option" or "means." So it's not a reference to any jutsu, just to the fact that Sasuke's (ostensibly) lost the means to fight back.

 

now you've got me very excited! there may be hope for this fight after all.

any theories on the new technique? I was hoping it would be a better version of Kakashi's Dimension Swirl © technique. However it seems to be a Taijutsu related technique, as Tsukoyomi was Genjutsu and Amaratsu, Ninjutsu... Hopefully, it won't be a SSJ type transformation.

But I do want to point something out.

Susanoo was most known for a specific set of actions. One of those is that he defeated the Orochi the 8 fold serpent. From the body of the serpent he took the Kusanagi sword.

Now... who do we know that has repeatedly been likened to a serpent.... and who do we know who has the sword Kusanagi?

That right there tells you something I think. All I can say is this... I sure as hell would not want to be around anything called Susanoo if I've been likened to a serpent or have that sword on me at the time.

 

I also think it will be a Taijutsu related thing. Can't imagine what it could do for his Taijutsu though.

I like the idea that the Susanoo creates clones of equal strength to the orignial that don't disappear when hit. But this would fall under ninjutsu.

 

I think Susanowo is going to end up being a beefed-up version of the Sharingan's prediction abilities.

The regular Sharingan allows you to see through genjutsu. Tsukuyomi is an ultra genjutsu. (Sasuke's uber-awesomeness allows him to break the technique.) GENJUTSU TECH.

All the Uchiha have an elemental affinity for fire. (Fire can be doused by water) Amaterasu creates a black flame that cannot be put out. NINJUTSU TECH.

The Sharingan allows it's user to predict moves. (This can be beaten by extreme speed). My prediction: Susanowo will allow Itachi to see and counter any and everything Sasuke will do beyond the regular sharingan's capabilities, and give him the boost in speed to do it with ease.

Or something like that.

 

Zabuza - Awesome badass. Suddenly, he stands there and lets Kakashi rattle through a long ass hand sign series, slam his hands on the groud, and gets caught by 6 DOGS tunneling underground. Zabuza is still one of my favorite characters, but he was totally gimped.

Gaara - Awesome. Shukaku was awesome. Headbutt. Gaara is no longer Shukaku... but he's basically destroyed? No healing? Did being transformed destroy his body that much? He looked alright as a Shukaku blemish.

Kimmimaro - Got sick and died before finishing his fight.

 

While I agree Zabuza, Kimmimaro wasn't gimped because his sickness was established before that fight. Though his death during the fight was kind of abrupt it, nothing that was established about his character changed that lead to him losing.

On Gaara it doesn't really suprise me that he has no healing abilities and little resilience to damage, his entire thing was the ultimate defense and that he had never been injured previous to the chunin exams. And he had a mutual take out with a kyuubi enhanced Naruto who up to that point in the story was an unstoppable juggernaut.

Zabuza was a clear gimp and just retarted but the other two not so much.

 

Zabuza- also covered the whole bridge with mist. He couldn't exactly, you know, SEE Kakashi create these seals.

Gaara- Healing? You referring to him being a jinchuriki? From what we can conclude from Canon, Kyuubi is the only bijuu that gives its host a higher healing rate. All Jinchuriki=/=Super healing.

Kimmimaro- he went to battle knowing he wouldn't come back alive. He was going to die anyway.

 

can't certain ninjas sense jutsu/ chakra usage? or is that fanon?

 

One and only one can do that that we've seen... Karin. The girl on team Hebi.

But that's a special ability.

 

Yeah, other than Karin the only time I think chakra can be sensed is when something like Naruto unleashing Kyuubi's chakra, and that is down to Kyuubi's chakra being full of such malice, rage and power.

 

So in other words, the chakra level has to be OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAND for ninja to sense it?
