As far as Potter's character, wait and see. Nonjon once thought I was going for a Dark!Harry. I am not. But the expression of his own definition of morality should be a little confusing, just like his madness. That's his character.

I don't know If i posted earlier, but the idea of Harry having a denarion's (spelled wrong, I think) kind of disgusts me. EVen crazy, shoudln't the denarion have the ability to take control of his body? Or would his status as an outsider make him immune to that form of mind control from the coin. Also, wouldn't Michael be able to sense the coin on Harry? Then he could believe he was protecting Harry from the denarion by attacking him and taking the coin.

 

If I remember correctly Harry has to willingly give up control to the fallen.

I think there was enough leeway in his agreement with Lasciel to keep him from doing that. Though with Harry's lack of knowledge, the only thing keeping him from saying hell yes, other than the creepy non British child soaked in blood, would be his unwillingness to give up control. I still doubt he truly grasps what a Denarian is... considering which part of his anatomy(his PENIS) he was thinking with at the time he got the coin.

But I do agree... this Harry would be horrible as a Denarian. The only reason Sheeza's Harry was cool was because he was such a little Antichrist, and liked it.

But I doubt it would come to that.

No, what I'm wondering is... if the dudes could pull Harry from the outside (where he apparently was for some length of time) why didn't they pull a Denarian. I had assumed it was Denarians who were responsible, or at least followers of Denarians. Now I'm wondering if they are only trying to find Harry because he seemingly escaped the outside.

Haven't heard from you in a long time.

Anyway, why Potter was pulled from the Outside has been established. He speaks the 'fallen tongue,' look at the Lasciel scene again and that will give you the explanation.

The Black Knights weren't trying just to bring in a fallen angel trapped in the Outside, they needed someone who could unlock their powers. That being Potter. That is why they summoned him and that is why they are pursuing him.

Lasciel gave Roqariel to Potter for safe keeping. He is her guardian now. It was Lasciel's last duty that she still took care of after being chucked out of Heaven.

Roqariel is not there so much to corrupt Potter, but to be protected by him. Her character is half and half too. She is not completely a fallen because she simply followed Lasciel when she was expelled from Heaven, Roqariel herself had no beef with God. Again her dual nature was talked about in the Lasciel scene.

And I think you guys are stereotyping what a "denarian" is based on Shezza's story. An excellent portrayal by him. But those of you who have read the Dresden series know Harry Dresden with Lasciel's coin was very different from Shezza's denarian.

And no a fallen can't simply take over their host. They have to win control from them by seduction, promises, maybe threats. They have to do something that make their host give over control. So Potter will not be simply taken over.

Potter is also full of different sorts of powers, and several destinies. His situation is a little complex. I'll be nice and give you a hint, Potter taking the coin is directly related to what the Gatekeeper said about Potter having to do something in the Dresden world before he can go back.

What is happening is part of the overarching storyline of this fic. So I won't say anything more.

As to the fallen tongue bit, I was just wondering if there was more to it I guess. I have to admit I haven't re read your story in a while so I probably forgot some bits.

As to lash from the book. If I'm to understand it, Harry was never really host to the full power of Lasciel, only a shadow of her true self, which he ended up influencing.

Don't quote me I'm only just starting the second book, so I have a ways to go before I get there. My point is, I don't think Harry has ever really experienced a true denarian yet. So Sheeza's denarian is just as valid I suppose. Not trying to Rip on you or anything, just trying to defend our assumptions.

I am surprised though with how you portrayed Roqariel. When I first read the Lasciel scene I had thought she was really just a sweet kid; an angel dubbed Denarian. I hadn't expected, Wendy Adams best friend.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... MOAR!

I've re-read Ch12 and 13, so I've combined all of my feedback into one post.

I wonder if he's subconsciously thinking of Roqariel here (innocent little girl with a guileless expression). Or is Molly really that dangerous?

That is so cute.

Molly is also pretty cute. She's full of energy and enthusiasm like a hyper-active puppy. Her bedroom scene was fun to read.

Charity is not cute. But she is a perfectly realised 'mother'. I'm surprised by how realistic she is. I've seen other mothers behave in exactly the same manner.

When did Deirdre get flattened on the road? Did a giant anvil fall on her head?

In Ch12, Roqariel is both adorable, and homicidal, but never adorably homicidal. Being adorable was just a mask for her ruthlessly psychotic persona underneath. Her behaviour left me wondering if Lasciel had lied about Roqa's innocence.

In Ch13, yes, Roqariel is adorably homicidal. I like this one. Whereas Ch12-Roqa left me confused, Ch13-Roqa is kinda fun to read. Aaaaw, isn't she so cu-- *gurgle* *I try to hold my throat together as blood spills down my front*

Roqa's character still isn't clear though, at times she behaves like a child ("sing me a lullaby"), at others she doesn't, she has a large vocabulary for an apparent little girl, and her steadfast loyalty to Hell ("I am Roqariel, I was Heaven's retribution, I will be Hell's vengence.") is slightly puzzling, as is Harry's cooperation.

That was a run-on sentence. O_O

I'm definitely looking forward to more of this, Nuhuh.

Two more books after this one? You bitch, Nuhuh. I take it back. I'm not looking forward to it anymore. How am I supposed to wait that long for the answers to be revealed!? All I see is pain in my future, as you methodically drip drop out chapters one at a time for eternity, teasing me with answers forever, ala RJordan and the WoT. If I can't break my addiction now I might never be free!
