Really enjoyed it this story, only problem I had with it was the Blaise/Harry/Hermione relationship.

    Over all 4/5.

You're fucking kidding me, right? You object because it involves a relationship/menage-a-trois?

I'm sure you'd object if it was a story involving a girl and two boys having a hot steamy threesome with lots of anal.

I agree. I could have done without bucky the bucktoothed beaver girl in this fic. While I'm not generally averse to HHr fic, in this one Harry really should have kicked her to the curb.

As long as it's actually an articulated, thought-out aversion to the pairing,er, three-some, I see no reason to make fun of you lol And you're right, she SHOULD have been kicked to the curb after she went stupid and started accusing people of murder. As if you could murder Snape and not get away with it anyways......It's called justifiable homicide.

I wish that authors would just go ahead a kill the Malfoy (Draco that is, actually kill em both) once and for all.

Other than that peeve, solid story and can't wait for Master Potter to start.

Find the Draco-kill-off thread lol Everyone got together and tried to see who had the most imaginative way to kill off Draco. Think the winner used a curse that petrified him with Snape down his throat in the middle of Diagon Alley. Disgusting mental picture, but funny as hell considering the fact that it was done on a Potter drinking binge..........

Well I don't know about everybody else but I think these stories do tend to get a bit wordy and (The first one at least) focus too much on politics which are not especially well represented. The idea about the malachi guy was fine but it still doesnt feel like a real political climate.Besides harry is learning at a slower rate than normal and he (at least to me) is getting a little to bitchy too fast.

I never knew how naybody can put up with Hermione I mean if I wanted a dominatrix I'd give fleur a leather whip:whipped: .hehe

Yes my biggest complaint in this one, is how the author continues to force Hermione into a naive characterization, which is wholly unbelievable given the nature of the first story.

Draco should be dead three times over already and yes...the author keeps the Malfoys (namely Draco) alive...it's getting to be as lame of a cliche as the OBHWF cliche. Draco never demonstrated any actual ability in canon, and his little plot only succeded because Dumbledore allowed it to...kill the prick off and be done with it I say.

All that said, I do like the Harry in this story and the author's trend of relegating Weasley family members to the periphery. The horcrux hunt is a million times better than in canon...and Zab beats Dumbledore as a mentor every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

    4/5

    Draco664 is an awesome author.

This would have been the best Harry/girl!Blaise. It is anyway, I suppose, but like the others I would have preferred Harry not having Hermione as baggage.

In Hermy's defense, Harry did make probably the most unfortunate slip of the tongue possible at the moment. Saying 'but we got away with it!' right after killing someone does not a good impression make. Silly Harry.

But, yeah, the love triangle's wearing a bit thin. It was a killer blowout of an ending to the first part of the trilogy, but more and more it seems that Hermione just isn't a good match for a Harry who's willing to stop Voldemort at any cost. Hopefully the last part will resolve this bit of drama in a conclusive way.

    Speaking of which...

The first chapter to Master Potter has been posted, so I suppose it needs its own thread now...

Thread set up in the "For Review" section. So head on over and get it into the library proper.

This story is great, the first one is great, the sequel is great, I was shocked. I thought I had found all the greats out there, but I suppose this wasn't on FF.net, so I missed it. Either way, this series makes me a happy panda.

This story was entertaining as hell. Draco664's version of Harry is exactly the way I like him to be: smart, powerful, independent, ruthless and has a great sense of humor. Its full of action and humor which draco balances it perfectly. And Ron in this fic is someone you can actually like and makes a great sidekick to Harry. The Harry/Hermione/Fem!Blaise relationship was unbelievable but interesting enough. I loved the original take on the Horcrux hunt which many fics fail at. The first-person pov for this fic is perfect and Harry is a pretty epic narrator. This is far better than Apprentice Potter which itself is good.

Since I have never read this, the prequel, or the sequel, I tried to read the first story.
'Tried', being the key word. Jesus, how can people like this? The only positive to Apprentice Potter is that it's written decently. Everything else ranges from bad to retarded, and it is riddled with cliches and bashing.

Does Journeyman, and by extension Master, Potter get significantly better? I'm guessing not, if I understood the pairing (Harry/fem!Blaise/Hermione) correctly.

2/5 for Apprentice Potter. Pending rating on Journeyman, if I get around to reading it.

They are very old stories. And as such, they rarely live up to the hype. I had similar complaints when I read it after several years of procrastination.

Back when it was written it was one of the best independent Harry fics out there. I feel like you should judge a story based on when it was written, not using standards that you have now, reading fics which probably took inspiration from this story.

I agree, to an extent. There's a reason why I don't go through all the old library threads rating stories. But you have to wonder where the line will be drawn. Five years from now, we'll be looking at stories like (insert current popular 5 star story here) in the same light, and our library is just going to be full of stuff like that, that was good at one time, but kind of meh by current standards. Perhaps we need a 'classics' archive or something, to preserve the old stories, but to also be aware that they're not there to be rated anymore. Honestly, if we reset the ratings on the library, I bet 90% of that stuff wouldn't get in there now.

I thought Journeyman was highly entertaining back "then" if you can live with the strange romance angle. The Vatican break-in is pretty much unique and deserves extra style points.
