Question concerning golem's: Are there limits concerning material that can be animated?

So say you transfigured some coal to diamond, could you animate a diamond golem?

Just curious since it would be a real ball-breaker.

Nice duel against Cedric and over nicely. But I am so expecting someone to raise shit over Harry cheating and knowing that spell which is beyond 7th year >.>

Okay I was wrong when I say he loses everything but I knew he would somehow be screwed out of a win against Fleur. Krum va Potter will be nice.

We really needed the duel to the death against Draco.

on your fanficauthors'net page, it says an upcoming story idea of yours is a harry potter/battlestar galactica 2003 crossover called 'the lords of kobol'. how would your particular idea work? as a rabid BSG 2003 fan, i would love to know.

I'm torn between the whipping and the branding, but, in the timeless words of Jesus, make that fucker bleed!

 

Goddamnit. This story frustrates me because when I hit the end of every chapter I'm enraged there's always something exciting postponed until the next update. I was looking forward to the dueling, but Malfoy getting branded? There should be a law against that level of cliffhanger.

And for what it's worth I think the Goblet ought to recognize that Malfoy actually deserves a Greater, not Lesser punishment despite the Malfoy hijinks. Would it be too much to hope for flogging AND branding?

 

I've got an idea..........Harry should put it the branding in as a *seperate* infraction so that the same laws that apply to him being in the tournament also apply to Draco's punishment. Double the pleasure and the fun, I say!

 

HJ actually caught a break with Fleur losing, although he still needs her to lose again in order to have a shot at winning this competition. Are the competitors allowed to help each other? It seems like HJ should be giving Cedric all the tips he can on how to beat Fleur.

Also, is there some restriction on the lethality of spells you can cast here? HJ has been fighting pretty under control, but the others have been throwing around spells that could kill somebody if they got (un)lucky. Are there any rules there, or is it the same as the broom race?

ETA: The advice I'd like to see is "Take this potion that turns you into a pronghorn, and make sure that Fleur sees you change back right before your match."

 

You have nothing to worry about; if jbern went to all that trouble to explain the Cur's Mark, he's probably going to use it.

Very clever dueling; I loved the water charm. I'm interested to see how - I assume your going to - land him with Voldemort in the graveyard. My money's on Draco, taking revenge for his branding and/or ing but somehow messing something up.

 

Can you imagin the new graveyard scene.

Wormtail walks up AK's, Harry ducks and blasts the fuck out of him then stands on Voldemort.

 

Let the Hat be enemies with the Goblet. LOL Wouldnt be that surprising really.
There would be a reason for the Hat not offering the Goblets services earlier.

 

Nah... I'll bet you they were old dorm room buddies. A flaming goblet? Holy shit...that'd be something that only Gryffindor would own.

Then again... the goblet might be some sort of uptight "by the rules" type, and that'd just piss the hat off.

Then again... a goblet that oversees a tourny where people are trying to cheat and kill each other... it could be just like the hat personalitywise, and pissed off that it hasn't had anything to do in 400 years.

Heh... that'd be great... it pops out a ticket for the flogging... and then provides a flaming (as in "on fire") cat o'nine tails for the scourging to be done with.
