From what I can see when I view it, FF.net has screwed around with the format a bit. Can you let us know if some paragraphs cut off halfway through, before starting again? And whether the italics go off and on or not?

If it's happening to you, you'll know what I mean.

 

Don't know if this has been mentioned. I've just read the first (of 4 current) chapters and shows some promise, if not a tad cliche'. As long as the author manages to avoid evil!Dumbledore, it could very well be a good read.

I may very well eat my words in 15min when I've read the other two, but hey, worth a shot.

Ah, that one. It's kinda funny how the author made it to 20,000 words before putting it on hiatus.

 

Just a quick heads-up for those who have been asking (those who don't give a shit, please ignore): I put the finishing touches on my latest revision of my H/F story Dagger and Rose and sent it to beta today.

I could use a second beta if anyone's interested. Story's a 75k word H/F GoF AU. I wrote it third person, present tense, predominantly active voice. It could use a look-over for plot and characterization. I think it's pretty clean in terms of grammar and spelling, but there are Harry Potter conventions that I probably frotzed. (Does one capitalize Legelimancy? Apparate? Quidditch? Is it Apparation or Apparition?)

And, I confess, it's not entirely DLP-compliant: Harry only flips one person off with the phrase "perch and rotate."

 

75k H/F? *Drool*. I have seen authors capitalizing all of them, but if you take it into consideration, none of those need to be capitalized as they are neither names, places or something of importance, maybe Quidditch because it is a sport. Depends on you, i personally don't mind. NEED MOAR FLEUR!

 

I'd be happy to beta your story if you want, only thing I tend to write in a style that uses little speech. I’m not sure if that matters.

 

Do ya have an idea for a release date, perspicacity? I'd offer to beta just so that I could read your story, but I'm busy to the point of sickness.

 

It'll depend a lot on the feedback I get from the beta reader(s). If the changes are minor, then probably a few days after I get comments. Maybe in a few weeks, to be conservative? (If the changes are major, then all bets are off, of course).

Right now the story is chopped into roughly 4500 word chapters. I'll probably release the first few fairly close to one another--one of the early readers mentioned (and I agree) that it's is a little slow to develop and this might help get to the more interesting parts sooner.

Two things to say, atm.

1. If this is the only time you feel like an idiot on DLP, fash, you're lucky. Either that or you'll just have a very short stay here.

2. Be on the lookout for perspicacity's story. It's nice. With an o.
