Why is this thread in the recycle bin with a four star rating?

Cause the people who should move it don't like it?

Dunno, I think it deserves to be in the proper library.

Apparently he is rewriting the earlier chapters, and downplaying the guitar and soccer.

Harry as a Mad God, like Dagoth Ur would be believable.
As it is, he's more like Sotha Sil in this fic. And we all know what happens to Silly Sotha

If the story is that awesome, it makes the guitarist!footballplaying!Harry even less excusable. I agree that the story's turned out for the better, but it's really stupid. If an author's got a great story on his hands, why put in this random crap?

Plot decisions could understandably step on readers' toes, but the guitar and football aren't plot decisions. They're just senseless.

I feel the same way. I don't know why he does it, but he seems prone to that. He did it too in his other story.

"Knowledge is Power" is a very interesting proposal, but things like that are what make it a decent read, and not an awesome piece of fan fiction. If it was just for the jam session, well, it could be forgiven; in fact, the story got me hooked after that, but then it seems to get more -as Andromalius put it- 'random crap', unimportant for the continuity of the plot and the level of the story goes down several notches.

It's like if the author wanted to demonstrate how cool and powerful Harry is in his story, but fails making him a rather boring, Marysue-ish character who's too cool for his shirt and sprouts the corniest lines ever.

Then, there's also the lack of conflict, and the little ne that's presented to us, seems already resolved.

Anyway, I'll keep reading, to see if things go up with chapters to come, but I don't have my hopes too far up.

Meh, at least it's better than 95% of the stories in FF.net.

Read the latest chapter. The whole Mudblood thing seemed childish and out of character for this Harry.

    But it was lulz worthy.

The last chapter wasn't one of his better efforts. I agree that the mudblood thing did seem OOC.

I think the best thing to do in the case of this story is to leave in the recycling bin until its either finished or abandoned. Then see what the rating is if it still has four stars then move it.

Mudblood scene didn't bother me too much, but Harry's attitude elsewhere did. The author seems to try to make everything Harry says amusing in a Cartman sort of way. It's OOC, and it's getting annoying.

"Foshizzle my mudbizzle" didn't bother you ? Honestly ?
Remember now, these kids are British; a Brit that izzlates their words is as retarded as an American saying "you bloody tosser" (or "Aussie Aussie Aussie, oy oy oy!" for our Austtalian brethren).

    Insta-fail.

Yeah I gave up after that chapter. I was holding on because of the Hp/Fleur but that was the most retarded thing I've read in a while.

You forgot to mention that it's also rather retarded for Americans to izzlate their words. Slang or no slang, izzlating a word is retarded, and any fic that uses it (unless it's done by a character that is intentionally retarded) is, as Justblaise said, insta-fail.

    Figure it out from context.

@Demon: You're right - it is retarded for Americans to use it as well.

I have up reading this story long, long ago (about the time we were introduced to the terrible OCs and dialogue) but every so often to pop into this thread...

    "Foshizzle my mudbizzle".

That is just awesome. I'm tempted to read the fic just to get to that bit.

He recently changed it to Humor. So Americanisms and dumb American slang words, no matter how out of place in Harry Potter fanfiction, is acceptable to me. It was a good idea, using mudblood the same way other words are used in order to cut down on there meaning, he just took it a little to far.

Harry's attitude to his friends, and non friends is just starting to piss me off. It's like Shezza's Harry from Denarian Knight without any of the amusing factors.

I know it's humor. My point is that it didn't create lol'z, in fact there was facepalming/groaning - the very opposite of lol'z.

Getting off that now-thoroughly discussed plot idea, Harry's attitude in this story has been run ragged. The aloofness and ZOMG THE HARRY GLARE WAAAH! has gotten old. Rabid fangirl reviews will only encourage this, sadly.

I wonder if the author checks this website for reviews, if (s)he did then we might see a major change. But that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.
