But if you erase him from the timeline this particular little plot bunny will go hopping of into someone else's head. Better to nip it in the bud then too transplant it.

Hmm, the nobler than thou Harry gets a Harem and is too good to do anythinng bur sleep with them can be done in an entertaining fluffy fashion but let's do a basic math lesson first.

How many players are there? Dumbles, McG, Draco, Tracey, and Daphne from Slytherin, Hannah and Susan from Hufflepuff, Luna and some extraneous guy from Ravenclaw, then finally Harry and Hermione from Gryff; that's eleven people. and they are playing five card draw so the initial deal is 11 * 5 or 55 cards. Even letting them use the Jokers as wild cards (and who in there right mind holds a high stakes poker game with WILD CARDS?) that's only 54 cards in the deck. Then they all discard and get fresh cards! That's the reason they developed Hold 'em in the first place, so that you could put more players at a table.

Both this and the Naruto story are EPIC FAIL:wall:

Who would be stupid to even bet themselves in a poker game anyway? Plus the people playing makes absolutely no sense. I mean you have Dumbledore and Mcgonagle and then the rest are kids.....in a high stakes poker game.....ya right.

1/5 only because I can't give it a lower rating.

You know, I'm somewhat ashamed that I didn't notice that. And here I was, thinking this failure couldn't get any more epic....

On the bright side though, I already rated it a 1/5, so I don't have to beat myself up for overrating.

Hey, if someone else takes it, the story might involve:
    1. Realistic poker.
    2. Actual smut.
    3. Harry giving his bitches tasks to peform other than cuddling with him (it's all I read). "Hermione, finish my homework. Ginny, clean my clothes. Luna, Polyjuice into me and go to Potions class. Parvati, Padma, 69 with each other."
    4. A plot.
    5. Actual humour!

I lol'd. But seriously, hasn't the author ever seen a deck of cards?
    2/5 from me.

The way he wrote this story, I'd be surprised if he'd ever seen a game of poker being played, let alone looked through a deck.

The only thing this story and that have in common is poker and possibly a harem. It is my opinion that is infact a completely different bunny.

Too much negativity here. I've seen far worse. I actually made it to the first few lines of chapter five before I quit. This could have worked as a one-shot, but sputters and fails as a multi-chapter fic.

Still, 3/5. The poker was retarded and Harry is a pussy, but its readable.

You don't think it's possible that more than one deck of cards were used?

Yeah. Did any of you even bother to read the Naruto fic? There were over dozen players and so it's possible that they had even more than four decs.

You realize that in a non-house game, this is against the rules?

Yes, but if it's just a large group of friends, then rules like that one can sometimes be ignored.

That's not only against the rules, it would be just a tad bit retarded. 5 card draw is more luck than strategy anyway but with four decks it would be pure luck. And you would have to change the order of the hands and include new ones (five of a kind, four of a kind and color). And I don't want to know how often you would have to split the pot.
If you do that, you could as well play high card.

As for the story: 1/5 because of the reasons already stated.

BTW.: Any DLP'lers playing at PokerStars or Everest?

    Yeah, I'm Marsupial_Bob on PokerStars. I stick with freeroll - I'm a cheapskate and I'm broke - but I'm there.
