I was reading this again and I realized I'll live happily ever after if Harry will just start calling Malfoy "scarhand". It will make up for all the times people in canon failed to laugh at Malfoy for the utter gayness of his favorite insult.

No. No it wouldn't. Fighting gayness with gayness does not cancel the gayness out. It only squares it and makes it super gay. I'm talking 'Richard Simmons buttsecks with Elton John' gay. It would only lead to the author getting mocked for having it in his fic. I'm pretty sure I put too many gay references in this post, but I just got back from a party so I don't give a shit.

A "scarhand" insult or the like wouldn't be out of place for Harry, but, HJ seems to be going by the "Malfoy is beneath me" route, so I suppose he would abstain from that - though I could imagine he'd do it if he had a moment in private with Draco shortly after the brand was applied; though I can think of no reason why such a meeting would be allowed to occur.

 

I hope the operation hurts. After all, it'll probably the only severe punishment Draco's ever had.

 

What would happen if the spell (I assume it’s a spell) that creates the mark of the cure was overpowered? I suppose it would be too much to hope that it would destroy his wand hand.

 

Draco holds his hand in front of his groin. So, when the overpowered scarring spell hits, it shreds his hand and butchers his genitals?

Okay, maybe a little unlikely.

I wonder what the cur's mark is going to be, Im hoping something like imprinting "whore" above his asshole bloodquill styles! I know it's fucked up, but the idea just came to me, it'd be funny if Malfoy had to write lines over and over and have it carved onto his pasty ass.

Lucius would block torture. Besides, the mark has to be visible - a permanent, obvious stain so that ALL future interactions with people would let them know ahead of time that Draco is a cheat.
In Western law and custom, you are assumed to be honorable and honest until you break faith. Classically, after ruining your reputation, you will bear the stigma for the rest of your life. "Have you ever been bonded? Have you ever been convicted of a crime?" are common queries on a job application. Note the word "ever."
Nowadays it's only the most stringent circumstances that would condemn an minor offender for cheating on a non-scholastic competition, but it will show up on the student's permanent record, and it might well be sufficient grounds to reject someone for a sensitive position.
Having Draco permanently and obviously marked means that Lucius won't be able to sweep this under the rug or make it disappear entirely in a few years.
Which is, of course, the point.

 

The mark is on the back of his wand had, (or at least that’s what I think it said) and being that it hasn't been used for hundreds of years anything that it does say will be pretty archaic e.g. no modern swearing or slang.

 

If I'm not mistaken, the effects of the Cur's Mark are outlined in chapter 11.

 

Mordecai came up with something when I first mentioned it. The Cur's mark is a pair of runes. The first is the one that is honor and as I recall the second rune is a reversal rune that negates the first one implying dishonor.

I'm guessing that it will be something like the banstick. Offensive, annoying and makes you hard to look at.

 

My personal suggestion is you also make it so the marks is transfered to his descendants for five generations. It is suitably barbaric for a people that haven't changed much since the stone age. The Hat could have conveintly 'forgotten' it. Then after Malfoy gets the brand, he could add insult/shame to injury.

 

If we're going for shame and dishonour there could be some law in the wizarding world that prevents anyone with the mark from holding a position of authority, so Draco could never become Lord Malfoy, have a seat on the wizengamot etc.
