Goddamn this is a great idea. Excited to see what happens from here on out, especially with the ingenuity that can happen with essentially a wide open universe ripe with creative opportunities.

 

I have been wandering when this was going to happen, with all the DF stories and discussions going on.

 

Once I actually finish reading them all, I might take a crack at it. I loved the TV series (in my defense I hadn't found the books yet) and have picked up the books haphazardly. So far I've only read four and a half (1,2,9,6,4 in that order) because my book budget is incredibly tight (hence fanfic) and my time to read a dead tree book short.

A Dresden fanfic archive. Not large, quality is meh ~ (Bob/Harry wtf...) but there are a few small gems.

 

I was just thinking the same thing.

I have been trying, for months, to get my local library to get a couple to put on the shelves, but the cunts been dragging their feet. Maybe they finally got some in, need to make a trip this weekend.

If not, I don't know when I'll get a chance to read them. Money being tight and whatnot.

 

Have to be careful, here. As this series gains popularity it will expand to other demographics of disrepute.

Namely slash writing fan-girls. The last thing I want to see is a ton of Harry/Thomas, Harry/Marcone, Harry/Morgan, Harry/Gatekeeper, Harry/ The Merlin, Harry/The Hellhound and Harry/The L.A. Warden (his name escapes me atm).

Writers should have to pass a criminal background check on their writings. Perhaps make them enter a sample writing. :3

The series has so much fanfiction potential, even more than HP!

We have a (new) world and rules and we can start from that,
like HP with the wizarding world...we have a new playground.

There are many choices Harry made in the books...if he did something different, the consequences could be very interesting.

Au has a good chance, timetravel could work (would be very exciting to read), darkHarry could work really good and many, many more.

I hope the books will gain more popularity, they deserve it.
