Anyone going to buy this game? I've had it preordered for a month now and can't wait for next week. There are supposed to be quite a lot of cool different multiplayer modes so maybe some of us who own a Xbox360 could get together at some point?

I found the San Andreas multiplayer severely lacking.

What did they think would be the fun about having to stay within 20 feet of your partner.

I expect GTA 4 multiplayer will be way better as well

For some reason, I'm just not all hyped up about it. It just doesn't sound as fun as it did a year ago.

I'm going to buy it anyway though.

The GTA series has become very repetitive.

But if this game can introduce something new, then I will keep it.

Grand Theft Auto 4, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Metal Gear Solid 4.

    And then I'll be broke.

I'll see the review before I decide whether I'm going to buy it or not, but the chance are that my thirst for evilness will win.

I don't have money to throw at console manufacturers, so I've been playing the GTA games on PC.

So I guess I have a year before I need to even think about this game.

Or are they even bothering with a PC version this time around? Yes, I am that out of the loop.

Multiplayer was just for consoles and was pure bs, the PC multiplayer mod was much better.
There is multiplayer for GTA4 so far the following game modes, TDM,Team mafia work,Team car jack city, cops 'n crooks and Turf war see here for more info.

Really? I think they are referring to the PS3 as the computer entertainment system. No other sources have stated that there will be a PC version. I think it will be some months before it comes out for the PC.

I'll get it once I get a PS3. I'm a little sad there won't be car customization (I had a garage filled with modded Banshees in San Fierro), but Niko Bellic seems more interesting than CJ ever did.

Missions in this one will be much more open ended...or maybe I should just say 'open ended', as the missions in the last trilogy were still too linear, even though it was a sandbox game.

IGN just gave it a 10, thats the first on a console since Zelda OoT 10 years ago in 1998.

    http://ps3.ign.com/articles/869/869541p1.html

This is a day one purchase for me, thank god I work the morning shift that day up at 4:00 off by 1:30 then no work again until 12:30 on Thursday. I'm going to put a ton of hours into this those 2 days.

EDIT: Mistake there they gave 1 other 10 in that period of time, Soul Caliber in 1999 on dreamcast.

Look at the name, it should be obvious.
From what I have seen of the game so far, it looks absolutely stunning. The fact that IGN gave it a 10/10 review (I put a lot of credence into IGN), just solidifies that I will this buy game on Tuesday. I have a 5 day weekend after the aforementioned Tuesday, and I don't think I will be coming out of the house, for a long time, after I get this.

I've got it ordered. The sheer amount of pleasure driving a combine harvester through the streets of San Fierro gave me was ridiculous. I can only hope that this will be as good. Are they keeping the body-mod system?

Clothes are still changeable, but statistics like fat/muscle and all that aren't in this game.

What about haircuts and tatoos? Not important to the gameplay it was a nice feature.

The multiplayer has to be better in this game. An online Halo style would be gfreat but I don't think we can expect that.

IGN gave it a 10 just like Smash Bros got a 9.5. IGN can't give it anything lower less they face criticism (and thus an undermining of their "authenticity" as a reviewing site).

The game is probably good. But if it were anything but "Grand Theft Auto" (ie an unknown 3rd party title) I doubt it would have garnered a perfect score.

But before I even consider it, I'll wait to see other's opinions on it. I especially won't be paying for a P$3 or PCbox 360 to play it either.
