Wizarding Britain may be backwards, but that isn't always a bad thing. Magic on Technology is illegal for a reason, it's dangerous. The reaction electricity may have with magic is unpredictable unless done by an expert (which Harry was not, btw), so Britain never invested time or manpower in it.

Also, different doesn't necessarily mean better. Unfortunately, Harry will think it does, being raised primarily in the muggle world and enjoying their technological luxuries (Movies, TV, Computers, mp3 players . . . take that shit out of your lives right now and you'd see how much you miss them).

Hey, Mr Joe, I think your fic is great, I love the arrogrant ass Harry, I also love the way he flirts with Fluer, but in his crude sexual way, I didn't really have a probelm with the technology bit, but it did raise qrestions why no one did it before, but hey you can just explain that purebloods see muggle things beneath them, and any muggleborn students wouldn't be wasting times trying to charm muggle equipment, they be more worried about learning spells and the wizardy world, like granger for instance.

I especially enjoyed harry calling rhona slut, whore, the bitch deserved it, she called fluer, the only major canon hp hottie a slut. Fluer is my favourite female character,

Hoever I do have a slight problem, the whole cynical view of the way harry sees hogwarts females, I mean I dont think its fair to blame a large majority of girls who sleep around on the majority that dont, I feel its double standards, I mean look at cedric, and sirus, they bloody man whores, lol, plus I dont think were going to see Hermione bending over for malfoy at any time, are we, lol.

I mean from my female perspective, its unfair how society has names for women who sleep around, but when there are men who are worse than some females, they dont get called anthing, I find it sexist sometimes, no matter, how much society has evolved, women cannot comprehend with men on some levels, its a shame really.

Mr Joe the fic does have some cliches, but who cares, since Black comedy finished your fic is the one I look forward to the most, and ingore the haters, and flamers, no matter how much trash they talk, they stil read your story. Also how is it you can write 10,000 words chapter in 5-6 days, are you on holdiday?

 

Mumihp, I'm actually in the middle of the semester at University, lol. It's just that I type really fast I guess. I should probably be studying a bit more and writing a bit less, to be honest, but I hate my current course at school and want to change anyway.

As for Sirius and Cedric, they're man whores, I'm fairly certain I refer to them as that all the time anyway. Harry thinks they're both pretty much idiots and Archie finds it annoying (mainly because he gets kicked out of his own room when Cedric gets a girl . . .).

Is Harry's generalization unfair to the girls who'd be considered 'good'? Yes, I showed that a little when Cedric pointed out that Katie Bell wasn't one of the 'slags' Harry detests, however, the fact remains that the majority are, like Rhona, which is why he has such a view.

I plan to have another chapter out by Sunday at the latest (I haven't even started it yet)

Great to see that the story has finally made it into a proper library category but I feel its better suited for the Alternate’s than the Independent section.

Well i hope he is updating i have got addicted to his story. And i have literally extinguished any fanfic worth reading.

And this fanfic should be in Alternate Category since:

1. Different house from cannon.
2. OC Characters
3. Different TimeLine
4. Harry is older

and etc etc..

 

I agree this should be in the Alternate catergory, yes harry is independent, but this is not canon harry who is independent, a different harry, who is 2 years older than ron, hermione, different house, different timeline, harry has oc chacter as a best friend, so this should be AC.

 

It happens to be an alternate universe in which Harry is independent-minded, so either category would work. Let me phrase that in terms you can understand:

It. Doesn't. Matter.

More importantly, both of you need to learn where the fucking shift key is.

 

Ahh so happy this story finally made it to where it belongs. I originally posted this story when it was at like chapter 6 a long time ago, was one of my first story suggestions, to say I got made fun of hardcore for trying to suggest this story(especially by Andromalius or w/e) is an understatement. It went to the trash of course.

Finally it's nice to see that people can look past the flaws and see what makes this story so great. Especially as it has progressed this story just gets better and better, and is by far my favorite story on fanfiction. Not only is Harry everything every guy dreams about being but he does it in a way that makes it seem right. The changes that were made to the HP universe are exciting and make this story all the more better, from the changes of the task to the way Harry presents himself, and of course the Harry and Fleur situations are legendary and promise to make this story one of the best H/F stories out there hopefully. We'll have to see what happens when they do finally hook up though. Anyways everything clicks in this story and since I've finally decided to look around DLP and seen this figured I'd finally review it.

5/5 from me of course. Though I do have to say I don't like your name change from SerpantSannin to Fettucini whats up w/ that . Also forget about that Pokemon story 3 chapters for them come on, without my once a week update of Knowledge is Power what am I going to do?

 

I've started reading this fic twice, the first I didn't get pass the whole two years older, the second time I decided to ignore that part, and I started enjoying the story. Being two years older, Harry doesn't get too involved in the things that everyone knows so lots of cliches are avoided. I enjoyed the "conversation" he had with Rhona as much as I liked it when he is "teaching" Luna. I like Fleur a lot, but I'm not sure about all the heavy flirting that goes on with them, sometimes I think that even Fleur should be offended...

All in all, what I like the most about this fic is that Harry is smart and independent even when he is at Hogwarts and that his mastery of magic is the result of years dedication.

 

That is one of the best stories I´ve read so far and I can´t understand what problems the other people have...

This is definitely one of the most interesting Alternate & Independent fanfic's i have read.

The H/F ship is awesome and i am a die hard fan of it.
It is already 220k and very few independent harry with all 7 years in them reach that stage.
I give 4/5 to this fic for pure entertainment value.

 

What's with all these freaking newbies saying exactly the same thing? I keep looking for an update and all I get is 'This fic is cool!'. Say something worthwhile or stop getting my hopes up, kthxbai.

On a side note, How does everyone think the Harry/Fleur romance will end up? I can't see it as a lovey-dovey sap fest. Would it just be continuous sexual tension or what?

 

The reason it's not been updated recently is because he's started another story.

I guess he couldn't hold out on the Pokemon story until KIP finished. Oh well. As for the Harry/Fleur romance, I don't see a sappy romance either (thank god). I'm interested to see where he does take it though.

 

Hold on, he has a Pokemon story? I like Pokemon fics.

I can't see it ending up being too romantic or anything but at the same time, this Fleur is a lot different to Jbern's Fleur. With the Authors taste for romance as seen with the whole Archades thing, he could end up having Harry open up to Fleur or something like that.

While it wouldn't be perfect for the fic right now, I don't think any proper relationship can support itself on sexual tension and flirting.

EDIT: I'll say this, the man knows his Pokemon battling.

 

I enjoyed what I read of his Pokemon fic too. I think it could actually be pretty good, certainly a whole lot better than most of the stuff in that fandom.

 

He has yet to write a fic that I don't like. When I saw his plan to write a Pokemon fic, I went 'wtf?', but it was surprisingly enjoyable.

As long as he keeps that great update rate I'll be happy, verrrry happy.


By the way, could someone please PM me some good Pokemon fics similar to his? Now that I know it can be good, I want to read more...
