This one was, honestly, far too heavy on angst for me. I started reading it a while ago, when I didn't have anything else to do. I read the updates up till the beginning of CoS, then gave up. Don't read this if you dislike the redo genre, canon pairings, and/or angst. There are some extremely interesting ideas in here however, but it's quite obvious that the author is forcing many canon events to happen, despite logical inconsistencies. NoFP is vastly superior, IMHO.

Alright, so I haven't seen this fic anywhere on the site or in this thread, so I thought I'd post it up. It's probably one of the biggest disappointments of my life (after I discovered that I couldn't fly. Damn, that was a depressing moment)

    Title: Harry Potter Warlord Prince
    Author: The-Caitiff (isn't he/she a member of DLP?)
Category: Recycle-bin (would be general if not for H/G)
    Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2938453/1/Harry_Potter_the_Warlord_Prince

The premise for this story really excited me: it is the only HP/Black Jewels crossover I have ever seen. Anywhere. In the past five years.

Alas, the quality of the writing is horrid - nothing is misspelled, but the dialogue is awful. Unfortunately, the story is 98 percent dialogue, which is good for some fics, but not for this one.

And my biggest disappointment: the author decided to "stay canon" and made the story H/G. I can handle some light H/G - the good kind where it's not mentioned at all - but this story is so fluffy that I started hiding in fear of the easter bunny.

    Enjoy.

This would never, ever make it into the DLP library. Most likely, it would garner flames for the attempt. Why? Because in it, Dudley Dursley finally got a clue, and it's from his POV. Before DH, I never would have given it a look, but canonically, JKR did redeem him a little bit. Really, Dudley is just a fat, spoiled bully; it's Petunia and Vernon that are the more despicable. Celebony handles the subject matter well and realistically in this story--it really could have happened somewhat like that. She takes the canon abuse in the Dursley household and has someone within it, Dudley, sit up and take notice with much less angst than is usual in abused Harry stories.

A Hero reviews Dudley begins to see his family in a different light. Warning: strong language and themes of child abuse.Complete - Harry Potter - Fiction Rated: T - English - Drama - Chapters: 1 - Words: 18,096 - Reviews: 140 - Updated: 4-2-08 - Published: 4-2-08

This is an Ok fic if you ignore the whole soul bonding thing. To be honest I can somewhat understand it, because Harry sends back general feeling's he had for Ginny instead of memories.

Much better than canon Harry if you ask me.

I liked this. I'm not exactly sure why though... I usually hate reading stories about Harry getting abused/beaten etc, but for some reason I liked this story.
I would have preferred to see the fall out if any that would have occurred when Dumbledore etc found out, but even without it, it was a decent read.

Didn't enjoy it at all, the very start was ok, it was a decent idea for a lead in to a change in Dudley, but it changes him too fast and too severely.

One good thing was that the author didn't seem to over state the abuse, as is common in fanon.

Here's a rather interesting story I came across a short while ago, unfortunately it hasn't been updated in months after only one chapter. It gets major points for being Harry/Hestia though, we need much moar of that.

A little one shot that I found that is actually pretty good in a Parody sort of way but is to short for the library.

As I said its good for a smile or two.

I actually found this story qruite funny, in a non serious way, it was amusing to see snape reaction to nerville avenging him, but when you think about it, the boy you belittered every moment, scared the shit out of, and he avenges you, its humerous really,

I ran across this story a few days ago. It's a decent H/Hr story. Unfortunately, the author died a little over a year ago (killed by a drunk driver). The author's beta posted the three following chapters that the author had largely written and promised to follow through on the outline (including several partial chapters the author had completed), but hasn't yet posted any of them.

Before I read the beta's note regarding the author's death, I think this story showed enough promise for me to read the author's next work (which obviously won't happen now).

Jeconais isn't often the usual DLP-accepted kind of stuff, and both of these were pretty unremarkable. But I still liked them, even if they're not Library worthy, it's a couple of quick pleasant one-shot drabble things that he just posted yesterday.

    Modest, too

This was short, shallow, and fluffy. It was also fun and funny, and I was taken completely by surprise at the end.

It really wouldn't be the same, if...

Double posting, but it's been weeks in between.

    The Power He Knows Not
    http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3442851/1/The_Power_He_Knows_Not
It's a different concept in the "Harry unintentionally destroys Voldemort" genre, and it shows a Harry that manages to be sane. The beginning was so ... I don't know how to phrase it ... fluffy and sappy comes closest, but Harry comes off as having a spine, somehow, anyway. I probably would not have continued, but there was enough bitterness in Harry's ruminations that it counteracted the "pretty-pretty" aspects.

The reason Voldemort is destroyed actually makes enough sense to allow me to continue to suspend disbelief.

What really saved the story for me was the second half. We see a smart Snape! He's clever and savvy and self-serving and pragmatic. He's also a brilliant manipulator. This is the Snape that Harry never noticed in the books. I have some dim grasp of exactly HOW dangerous life would have been for someone in the Inner Circle, and I hate it when a story gives us a unintelligent or unperceptive spy. The story gets better as it goes on.

I love the last lines. They show So Much of who Snape really is... So very NOT a nice guy. Snape is someone who aspires to be a chief advisor. He doesn't intend to be "President of the World," he wants to be a power behind the throne.

STFU, if it is a Troll, I might have breakdown, because I actually greatly enjoy "To End All Wars", HP/Belgariad x-over, Link:http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3812841/1/To_End_All_Wars
The first few chapters are a bit lame, but it really builds up...
It might not fit here, because it is actually enjoyable >_>

Ugh! I made it into the second chapter before even getting the faintest flash of amusement. And then I read a little further and just had to give up on it.

Yeah, weed can do that to you. T'was more annoying to me though as I didn't have the luxury of killing the brain cells with drugs. This fic done it instead, it is a whole lot more painful without the good shit.
