I'm on a gap year and I can generally type fine. Unless English is a second language to you, shape up. If it is a second language then excuse me.

I'm with Sree, most Indian chicks are ugly. Of course the best of the bunch are going to be good, but that's how it always works. Call me racist, but I personally find most Asians/Indians/Africans to be pretty ugly. Sure, some are attractive but if you see the general population, it's not usually very good.

@mumhip, there are several active Harry/Fleurs posted here in the forums and a bunch more out on the interwebz. Some of them are actually good.

@Original Topic: Are there many Harry/Fleur's in which the Veela race actually play an important role? Not just an excuse to show how noble Harry is to resist the charm, or the Veela!Mate thing?

Well, Mrriddler's Secret of the Male Veela looked pretty promising, but it's been on hiatus for some time now...:(

That's the only one I remember, there could be others though.

"Marked By A Veela" features the veela race, but unfortunately it's pretty hard to come by a worse author than the one who wrote that.

If you're desperate though... well, mortally desperate... ;)

That's the only other one I know of.

There are an a lot of hot Indian girls at my college but that probably isn't representative of the entire race. I even dated one for awhile.

I could have sworn English was one of the official languages in India. Doesn't everyone speak it over there? Everyone I talked to when I visited India spoke perfect English.

Wikipedia says the official languages are English and Hindi. Is this an example of wikipedia failing?

Sree, your title isn't inspiring my hope in your knowledge of India. :(

The Brits colonized India and didn't leave until the late 1940's. English was and still is a popular language there. Up until recently, many indian parents would send their children to be educated in the UK and the US. Only in the last few years has that changed.

Also, in my personal opinion, Indian women are hot. This is based on the fact that there are a lot of beautiful Indian women in my area. But that is just me. Hotness is subjective. Get over it.

Can we get back to the established hotness that is Harry/Fleur?

I think we have establised the hotness of indian chicks, haven't got a clue how this got in the topic, lol, I have think we all agree that the hotness surrounding harry/fluer is a 10+, lol, just wished there was more stories as them as the main couple, mostly people tend to use beaver bushy girl and ginny slut, the only two good ficition I have thats active that has the pairing harry/fluer is HP & knowledge is power, and The lie I've Lived,

I do hope to see some quality writtern work that has them as the main pairing, becuase the only person who is on the same par as Harry is Fleur.

Give it up, retard. I've lived there, I know more about its languages than you ever will. And next time you want to look up information on a country, go to the CIA World Factbook, not wikipedia. Seriously, who the fuck goes to wikipedia for info like that when credible information is available? Wikipedia =/= Credible source.

My title isn't good for my credibility? Your ignorance of other cultures isn't either.

Damn right that handsome bastard has.

But oh stop, you're too kind - plenty of Harry/Fleur moments in this next chapter (chapter 9) but have to ask, how much of a 'damsel' would we consider Fleur? I know she fought a dragon and all that, but canon offers very little about her and I'm ashamed to say I've only read about half a dozen Harry/Fleur stories.

I'm thinking Fleur should be able to kick ass where appropriate. That's not too big of a leap, is it?

Not at all. She had to be a champion for a reason. She isn't weak, but I don't believe she is overly powerful either, from canon, otherwise she would have done better in the Tournament.

    Yeah, I reckon.

Dude, I keep meaning to catch up on your story and leave a heartfelt review. I'll do that later.

I agree. She had the right to kick ass.

I think she must be talented enough since she is selected as champion, but the situation in the tournament conspire aganist her, with Crouch trying to get Harry to the portkey and to Voldemort.

Wasn't she also supposed to be a Duelling Champion? I always thought that, but now I can't seem to find the quote.

BTW, you're going for Bird!Fleur, Joe? Obviously, that would give her an edge, and besides that, Bird!Fleur is smokin' hot. Literally. *groans* Now I've got some really bad puns on even worse pick-up lines stuck in my head. Figures.

But yeah, no wimp!Fleur. Other than that, I'm open for anything.

lawl, I was just joking around about the title. I'm actually Indian/White, which makes me ignorant of half of my own culture.

I'm not too bothered because, YOU WILL KNOW MORE ABOUT ITS LANGUAGES THAN I EVER WILL. I'll just ask you from now on.

Also, on a completely unrelated/related note, Fleur wasn't a dueling champion. We don't know anything about her other than that she comes from France in canon.

She lost to those little demon things in the lake (forgot the name) which Harry handled easily. Her talents aren't really shown as great in the book.

edit: I agree though, I hate dumb blond Fleur that ends up with secret compassion for Harry because he happens to save her. Overused plot device is overused.

I think that is either a fanon interpretation or is just written in one of the fics around the net. There's one where Harry goes to Durmstrang with Krum as his 'brother' where she is, I think. My memory on that fic is rather hazy though.

Where do we see Bird!Fleur except in the Crystal of Kryptonite, or whatever it is? I tried to get through that one, but some said she died and Harry goes after Ginny. Kinda detered me from reading it beyond chapter nine, which, coincidentally, was where she went bird on Harry in Grimmauld.

EDIT: New H/F story by the name of "Blissful Amnesia". Only one chapter, which was reasonably good, but who knows where it goes. Still, figured I'd mention it.

I was thinking of hot-dressed-to-kill-in-something-tight!Fleur, that can kick a fair amount of ass whilst being forceful with young Harry but not enough to make him a little bitch.

But I dunno... we'll see how it goes, that's the best way.

Harrys hardly young in 'Wastelands of Time' though, not mentally anyway. Still, as long as he's not a bitch.

Mmm, well I just read that "Blissful Amnesia" story, and it looks interesting so far.

My only issue is that it's slated as starting "pre-book one," so even if it was after Hagrid visited, but before he went to school(It escapes me at the moment, if there was even a day between then... oh well), while he may know about magic from Hagrid, I don't see how he would know about Apparition already >_>...

But, as I said in my review, instinct is an unusual thing sometimes, and magic has its own sentience of a sort, so...

It's mentioned that Harry apparated to the roof of his school at one point. Acidental magic I guess.

I think he means that it is strange that Harry know the word 'Apparition' since he doesn't know anything about Magical world yet, but maybe the writer write from a future Harry perspective?

Edit: Also, I was curious whether who do you imagine as Fleur when you read a fic?
