Orson Scott Card, the author of the wildly popular "Ender's Game", has publicly lambasted JKR's lawsuit against SVA.

 

That is awesome and truth.

 

Probably, Sree, but it makes him no less right. JKR needs to stfu, not Card.

 

They both need to stfu.

JKR should go enjoy her billion, and quit being an attention whore.
And Card...Uhh... Should go do whatever, as long as it isn't stirring up trouble in the news...

Card needs to stfu. He is a bigger attention whore than JKR. This is none of his business; he just wanted some attention from the media. Why are most authors media whores?

 

Because they livelihood depends upon it, perhaps.

Meh, JKR does need to shut up, but Card's lambasting was as mediocre as his books.

 

They realize the world is populated by idiots. Said idiots don't usually read books, but if they hear about an author's name enough they may buy one only because it's the "popular" thing to do. All that equals more money for whatever author we insert into this theory.

Or...they just like being the center of attention because they were picked on as kids and enjoy their newfound popularity.

Either way they should both stfu.

 

Meh....Card isn't that bad. On the other hand, he is and attention whore, just like JKR, so they should both stfu.

I'd hardly call it attention whoring, but that's just me.

He brings up points in later parts of the article have been agreed upon by most of us here.

 

Have I missed a dozen or so Orson Scott Card news articles, or are you guys seriously calling Card an attention whore for telling JKR to shut the fuck up in one article?

Because that's not attention whoring, that's being an asshole. In any case, I agree with Card here.

 

I think it might have been out of line, nut not neccissarily attenton-whoring. If he puts out A LOT more articles like this, or has in the past (I didn't think to check the link for more articles by him) then he's an attention-whore. If not then he's just being a jerk, which considering the target and the fact I liked Card's book a bit better doesn't really make him an attention whore in my opinion.

 

I have to agree with Wildfeather Card isn't on National Television trying to get money out of her he just wrote one newspaper article about how her books and his are similar, he never said that she ripped him off just that authors reuse other's idea all the time.

 

The point of it is that everyone does rip off everyone else. You've heard me bitch about Tavi and Codex Alera. You can go into any bookstore throw a stone and hit at least a dozen books with a 75% similar plot to Alera. Even the vord.

You also saw Tehan last night. Attempt to stray from the formula and niggers go batshit. Try to put a new plot to an old, recycled one and people bitch.

Whether Card was in the right or the wrong to put the article out is another matter all together. The fact of the matter is that he is right.

Rowling IS an attention whore WAY more than Card has EVER been. I rarely see Card in the news. I hardly ever hear Card bitching someone ripped him off and he is going to sue. I don't see Card running to papers with the story of his suicidal times.

My hate for Rowling aside, and my like of Card as well, He IS right.

Thus, the STFU needs to go to Rowling. Not Card.
