    You keep on presuming that.;)

Personally, I'm not happy with Harry's vocation.

Perhaps I've read too many bad stories in which Harry ends up Minster/Headsmaster/Auror, but it just doesn't seem realistic to me.

I would have preferred an epilogue in which Harry retires away quietly and lives out the rest of his life in peace, escaping the spotlight that plagued him throughout his early years.

But that would be the sensible thing for him to do.

Personally, I have serious doubts about that. If he couldn't be arsed to take a proactive approach to learning when he had a frighteningly powerful dark wizard after his life, what hope is there that he'll bother when he's busy snogging Gin-Gin? Harry can - and probably does - easily coast through life on the dregs of his fame alone.

Umm...maybe, maybe not. What is the age of her oldest child (daughter, I believe)?

After all, she started the series for that kid...so why not end it that way too?

    And on a side note.

If all the cliches are now 'canonized' do they still remain cliches?

They absofuckinglutely remain cliches. There's no proof that JKR didn't get her ideas for HBP and DH by browsing ff.net until her eyes bled.

Rowling's mistake is that she kept her books for children only. She forgot or didn't care to write for the more intelligent and literary talented who read her books.

And failed to remember that the children that read PS in 1997 (or in my case, 2000) were no longer children in 2007.

What better way to become famous and rich than to exploit children?

It seems like DH is a "Fuck you, we've finished milking you of your money" to those people who read the first five books when they were younger. IMO, Rowling doesn't care too much about her older readers. After all, only her pre-teen fangirls would worship HP like a god and in make her millions in the process.

Still, Rowling must have done something right, since we're are discussing HP and reading HP fanfics.

Yes, she did. Usually we call this "the first five books".

Have to agree with Klavo. HBP sucked ass, and I'm not even going to bother reading Deathly Hallows. I'll stick with my first 4 HP books (I didn't like OoTP too much either, tbh). Isn't it pretty humorous for people (like me), to be actually day dreaming about the HP world? I mean just the magical world in general, not HP specifically. I catch myself doing it all the time before I go to sleep.

I think she should just leave it be. Can't she realize that she's done enough damage whith HBP and DH?I mean, It's hard trying to forget she ever wrote them without her reminfing us at every chance she gets.

Well, thats what happens when all that glory gets into your over-inflated ego, my friend. You get a cunt who just can't shut the fuck up and leave it alone when it needs to be left alone.

    PS: 300 posts, yay!

In my honest opinion i think you are being overally harsh to JKR, she made 5 awesome books (5th being best IMO) and has been writing the series for over a decade. It seems to me she just ran out of energy, time and space. I agree that 6th and 7th were crappy, but with publishers and fans constantly bombarding her with cries for new material and books it must bee incredibly trying and aggravating.

7th seemed to me to be a quick tie up by adding in new plot devices which would end the story quickly. Also I have one large problem with the series and a dislike. I hate the fact that JKR wrote a series contain such large amounts of child abuse. They were necessary for his whole tortured hero look but it just makes it seem like the British child care system is sh*t.

My other major dislike is Harry/ginny twist, she looks like his freakin mum for gods sake. This could be to some form of psychological problem due to lack of childhood love, but it is still overall wierd, also hes a celeb he could have any girl he wants!

Overall i disliked the epilogue due to lack of information and pairings, the overall book was bad and i wish she was given more tiome to work at her own pace so she could really let the series go off with a bang, not some form of pitiful splutter from an overally whipped horse.

...Did you even post an intro? No honestly they're going to rag on you about it so I decided to be first ^_^

Anyway the extra info she gives is pissing me off. It's pointless shows little to no actual thinking on her part and gets on my nerves.

Though yes I felt the epilogue was sort of a "Fuck you" to the older readers as well. Honestly what was with that overly cheesy and stupid as fuck epilogue?

To flyingwhat-the-fuck-ever: I'd think two and a half months between posts would be necro-posting, no?

That answers most questions, I think.

Overly whipped horse...that's a good one. Pretty accurate too I think. Book 7 was definitely rushed. I was willing to overlook HBP because of the plot point that tied in with the end - Dumbledore's death at Severus' hands and the horcruxes. But Book 7 totally undid everything. Also introducing new plots with the Hallows gave it a rather 'pulled out of thin air/vacuum' feel.

The epilogue...well I don't think any comment is needed. I was ofcourse, hoping for an LOTR style finish with a 160 yr old Harry bowing out surrounded by family a la Bilbo/Elrond or a year-wise description of how things progressed.

    Finally, why nineteen years?!

Can anyone explain why it was Nineteen years later. Why not Ten years later? Or Fifteen?

So thats the world after DH. Not much to say. Kinda boring really.

-Harry helped improve Snapes image after he found out he loved Lily.
-Harry became Auror and helped reform Govt.
    -Slytherin House isnt evil anymore.
-Hermione continues with S.P.E.W. And then rewrite laws that favor purebloods./Gets knocked up by Ron and forced to marry him/
-Ron doesnt look for a job and ends up working for his brother till he sees Harry becoming a Auror and decides to copy.
-Kingsley becomes Minister without being voted in.
    -Weasley clan expands (Percy+2. George+2. Ron+2. Bill+3)

Well when one evil falls another rises. Hope someone makes another book. Someone who expand the Hp world and doesnt pair people that only shared a total of ten sentences together over 6 years.

    You forgot one: Ginny+3.

I'm waiting for the sequel where Ginny's hellspawn change their names to Weasley and proceed to conquer the planet, forcing Harry to travel back in time and remove the stain of the clan Weasel before the entire universe is sucked into its gaping Maw. (And a clip!)

I really don't see Harry's kids as Potters. They're Weasleys in everything but name. I also wouldn't be surprised if Ginny was the one wearing the pants in that relationship.

    Yes, I got carried away.

Heres something i want to know.
Did Gringotts ever forgive Harry for stealing from a high security vault, a dragon and destroying part of the tunnel system plus the lobby?
You would think that the Goblins would be in a uproar about a Wizard 'attacking' a instatution of the Goblin Nation.

It's just a random arbitrary number JKR pulled out of her arse. I doubt it has any meaning. Personally, I like it, as it gives Harry time to have other relationships before marrying Ginny.
