Not to go too off topic, I have a strong feeling that Bob will be very important in the coming books, and will show us some big personal history (and maybe even some past demons of his own, though he won't be morally troubled by them).

I reckon we're going to learn why Bob is in voluntary exile from Faerie soon. I imagine it's going to be something quite important, for some odd reason...

As I remember--and I may be wrong, of course--Bob is only ever mentioned as a 'spirit of knowledge'. Was he ever said to be a Faerie? And if he was, which court? or Wyldfae?

He is a spirit of knowledge, but those not in the mortal world reside in the Nevernever, of which the majority is controlled by the Faerie Queens. As well as that, Bob was in the service of Queen Mab for a long time (or so I recall) but did something to royally piss her off and thus was forced to flee from Winter or face her wrath. He was on name basis with Leanansidhe as well, if I remember it right.

It explains why he has a great load of knowledge on the Winter Court but didn't know much about the Gruff brothers, besides their fairy tale.

@Darth Revan: Bob's obsession with porn is explored in a lulzy thought sequence by Dresden.

@Aekil: The Faerie Courts don't control anywhere near the entirety of the Nevernever. They simply control the majority of the 'stable' parts that directly connects to the normal world.

Yeah, the Nevernever is a big place. In fact, as has been said in the books, It's the biggest place. Fearie is, like, a street corner in New York.

Directly quoted from Grave Peril, page 351, UK paperback edition. I interpreted that as meaning Faerie is a fucking big place and I never recall saying that the Faerie Queens control all of it, just most of it, because as big a place as the Nevernever is, Faerie is still very fucking big.

If I understand the concept right, the power balance (I suppose you could call it the map, if you could carve the place into countries like normal maps do) of the Nevernever relies more on the belief of how powerful the factions are, and Summer/Winter have mighty strong beliefs backing them. Thus the Faerie courts have a shit load of power and their territories are expanded because of it, and thus I come back to my original point that Faerie is a fucking big place.

Am I the only one who marked out in Dead Beat when Bob went evil?

Personally, I'm more interested in what occurred before that. He was the servant of Kemmler, not much more too it. How deep a story can you have under an evil madman with a talent for raising the dead?

Nope, the Faerie Courts are much more interesting to me, and I want to know what Bob did that could piss of Mab enough that she would still hold a grudge so many hundred (or thousand?) years later. Heh, reckon he sneaked a peek at her getting changed? :p

True, though there is more to his character than just being Kemmler's servant.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm necroing this one.

I've got problems discerning between english accents, so could anyone tell me what that slight accent is I hear on some of the actors? Namely Bianca, Ancient May (the new actress, not the one from the movie) and the blonde chick from "Things That Go Bump". Maybe some others as well, I just watched only two episodes again.

Just noticed they had it up on hulu. For those who either didn't download it, or like me, downloaded the series and then erased it on accident.

Yeah, I believe every Saturday night, the people at the Dresden Scifi forums have a "sit-in" where they watch the episodes on Hulu and discuss it somewhere...

    http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2313641

To discuss it, they open a thread to talk about it and basically display the popularity of the show. Episode 4: Rules of Engagement is tonight. Not my favorite episode, but not a bad one, either.
