Shezza you have a talent. Only you could give us filler that we could possibly want to read.

 

Today's chapter was cool, but I'm not sure if I was supposed to review over there or here.

 

I think Shezza has forgotten/didn't know that he was supposed to post that in the Dresden section.

Can't wait to see what Harry does at the exam...all the people running around bitching about last minute revision...ah! the possibilities...

 

I'm wondering how the anti cheating quills will fare. Considering technically he is cheating.

That would be hilarious if in the end after spending an entire year at hogwarts he couldn't complete his owls because of a simple quill.

I think these so-called "filler" chapters are required for a good story. It shows us how the characters think and makes us care about them. That being said however, chapters with nothing BUT "filler" would get old quick. However from what you are saying, we will be getting more plot-movement with the OWL's and then action after that.

As for the talk between Meciel and Harry here. It was interesting enough, though not exactly earth-shattering. Though it did tell us what Harry intends to do after the OWL's and I assume between this story and the next. You are still planning to make this a trilogy right?

Hehehe. In truth though, the idea that some simple anti-cheating quills meant for teenagers could block someone like Meciel from helping would be very silly. If they could then Voldemort really screwed up with his special cuffs made with Harrys blood, when all he really needed was some standard anti-cheating spells.
Besides, Dumbledore would have warned Harry about that.

Also I am kinda hoping that with Meciel's help, Harry passes his OWLs with the best possible score, beating all the other students. Mainly because I would love to see Hermiones reaction to Harry beating her, despite the fact that she studied hard while Harry just slept infront of the fireplace.

 

I don't get why you assume he will be exectued after failing OWLs. He spent years on the run and his capture was one time occurrence, as stated by narrator:

He already has lots of people trying to kill him ( Denarians, Vampires, Tom Riddle & co ), its not that much difference. Besides, I have a feeling that capturing him wont be healthy for White Council anyway.

 

He might not be executed but it would definitely make things harder for him in the future, especially since Meciel seems to have big plans for him.

If he fails, he's not a Wand Wizard by White Council standards, so even if he can avoid them, they'd be actively seeking his death, which would make it hard for him to set up any long term plans.

If he passes however, he's a Wand Wizard, and the White Council don't have the Jurisdiction to try, and kill him... A good thing no?

 

Congratulations you two, you figured out the basic plot for the story that was revealed in chapter 2. You deserve cookies.

Great chapter Shezza, its good to see you writing again. Shape shifting-penis growing Meciel was both horrifying, and yet strangely arousing...

Also, we need more bad Denarian puns. Who knows, Shezza could pick one up and run with it after Denarian Lord. Personally, I'm holding out for Denarian Fisherman.

 

I quite like the Denarian Dropout, it has a certain je ne sais quoi that sounds just right.

Great chapter as usual. The filler is necessary for fleshing out characters and giving hope to people like me, still hoping for Harry/Meciel. I would definitively subscribe to the "No Hogwarts!" movement. The world is so much larger than that draughty old school. Much more interesting also, and without Amanda...

Does the passing of the OWLs really matter? I was under the impression that it was simply the process of having gone through them which classed one as a wand wizard, rather than having to do well at them.

After all, Crabbe and Goyle are wand wizards for certain, but they fail at pretty much everything still.

 

I think they are more along the lines of to get into X NEWTs class you must make atleast Y on the OWLS.

 

Might be that if you completely fail at everything on the tests you have to resit a year, which would explain how that Slytherin guy (was it Flint?) was kept back while no one else has been.

 

I know this is a bad pun but...

Goddamn you can write meceil and harry interactions. I can count on one hand the number of stories I can read the filler chapter's and not want to skim over because of pointless crap. Actually now that I think about it most of the writer's here don't do useless and pointless crap in their fiction.
Great part, I hope harry still has his fallen when the series ends. They just go so well together.
