Technically, canon is an inheritance fic, because Harry inherits a load of money in PS and some again in HBP...but this is one thing that canon does right. Not too much, nor too little.

Also, totally unrelated except to the fact that Malfoy has been mentioned...

    New pic from HBP movie.

I know I'm spamming but his parents are desribed as attractive. Last I checked attractive people tended to have attractive kids. Just because you don't like him doesn't make him ugly. Harry's not ugly either but I don't see him as overly attractive (I didn't see Riddle as overly attractive either Riddle had charisma something Harry severly lacks).

    Canon says otherwise...

"Merope had got her dying wish: he was his handsome father in minature, tall for eleven years old, dark-haired and pale." HBP p252 Brit Hardcover.

Attractive people do generally have attractive kids. Didn't work out well with the Malfoys. The movie version of Draco Malfoy, is ugly. No question about it. Sadly, as I saw "Philosophers Stone" before I read the book, the movie version of Malfoy, is my mental representation of the book version. Riddle, on the other hand, was described as handsome and charismatic. Riddle draws comparisons between himself and Harry, in everything from looks to talent, therefore it can be assumed that Harry, although small, isn't ugly.

@Taure: I never really thought of Lucius as a dog person.
He's just ... not the friendly, roll-around-on-the-floor sort of personality.

I guess it comes with the large country manor.

Rich, upper-class English gentleman with a manor in the country? Then you need hunting dogs.

    And Wellington boots.

Also off topic but regarding Taure's photo, sort of: anyone know who the hell Helen McCrory is? She's supposed to be Narcissa, which I thought was going to be played by Alison Doody (of 'Last Crusade' hottnessss).

In Half-Blood Prince? Isn't Voldemort out to get his ass for losing the prophecy?

They've added a few scenes to the movie that aren't in the book. For example, we're going to get to see the Death Eater attack on the bridge (a bridge that was in Brockdale in the books, but has been moved to the Millennium bridge in London in the movie). That should be pretty cool.

From the look of this pic, a scene in Malfoy manor has been added, unless it's just a publicity still.

McCrory was supposed to play Bellatrix, if memory serves. She got pregnant and would have been showing rather obviously during the October(?) that they shot the Ministry battle, so they replaced her with Helena.

Alison Doody would have made a good Narcissa. Both Narcissa and Elsa are attractive blonds who hang out with Nazis and spend half their time acting like them. :p

Frankly, just about any woman can play upper-class trophy wife whore. If you want to know why, it's because every whore-in-training played dress up in front of a mirror thinking about 'random-sexy-guy' taking care of them like a princess. Which in today's terms is the same as upper class trophy wife whore.

I don't know if Helen McCrory will make for a good Narcissa, but she seems fine to me.

A couple of pics lacking the blonde hair but emphasizing her Narcissa-ness:

Meh. Decent tits, but I see why they cast her as Bellatrix originally.

If they had cast her as Bellatrix, the number of Hot!Bellatrix fics would have skyrocketed compared to Nasty!SaggyAzkabanTits!Bellatrix.

Hmmm. I see what you mean about the Narcissa "attitude." She'll need blue contacts. I figure that most of the characterization will be in posture; graceful and restrained.
No predator, no blisteringly sexy walk, no jiggle, no whimsy: ice princess all the way, baby.

I wonder if Lucius actually walks those dogs, or if he has a handler to do everything except pose with them?

    Edited to add:
Wait a minute! Those are Irish wolfhounds! What are they doing on an English estate?
    * shock *

This may come as a shock to you, but English people don't just own English dogs...

    Malfoy does.
Besides, they shouldn't BE ordinary wolfhounds. Lucius would have some sort of highly dangerous magical species. Remember: Lucius has very firm ideas about the value of non-magical things. And about the importance of image.

I've seen two sets of twins with the same first names, just different middle names. So it isn't that strange, sadly.

Who knows Banner, perhaps they fart mauve flames that give that vital speed boost required for hunting snitches.

I'd say that it's more Purity that Lucius cares for, not magic. After all, he no doubts hates Mudbloods, half-breeds and magical creatures too, so possessing magic is no guarantee of his good opinion.

I'd be willing to bet the dogs are purebred.
