If people actually make it to the final chapter, it will never escape the bin. Just thinking about it makes me want to kill small fuzzy animals. I'm in the burn it with fire group on this piece of horse shit.

 

The ending is absolute crap. Daniel killing Harry came straight out of left field. And then to turn it into a time travel plot and end it there sucks. I liked it before, but now... it deserves to be binned!

 

Well I was thinking of finishing it off (I stopped after the marriage - Harry Flitwick? Wth did that COME FROM?) but after I read those three words, I decided to just kill a kitten or something.

 

You're right... 'Harry Flitwick' *did* come straight out of left field. For that matter, Daniel going ballistic and killing Harry because, and I quote, "Hermione was mine!" came out of thin air, too.

 

I'm disappointed in the ending because Harry didn't just simply flash his basilisk eyes at Daniel and kill him outright. Also, I certainly wouldn't have gone back in time. Fuck that. I would have demanded to be reborn with all my memories and abilities in tact so that I could hunt down Daniel and kill him slowly.

 

And that's all you can say, really. This made me remember why I don't read fanfics anymore.

 

I just read chapter 48... So Voldemort fights Harry's Basilisk form, and is not ONCE harmed by Harry's uberkillervision? Or is the reason for it buried in the stuttering prose?

Also the ending for chapter 48 on FF.net does NOT tally with what everyone else is saying. Is there any chance someone who has read the yahoo group ending could just check it out? I think she might have changed it, unless chapter 49 does some wtfwierd shit.

That is because chapter 49 is the last chapter. I didn't like 48 as much as her earlier chapters but that was OK. 49 was horrible, just plain horrible.

I didn't mind it as much as you guys did. For a long time I've thought Daniel killing Harry would be at least one of the more possible and better endings - a final injustice. Daniel's justification for killing Harry wasn't tops, though, and the story did drop in quality considerably towards the end.

Overall, I'd give it a 3.5.

I've in the process of leaving a scathing message about it.

Daniel killing Harry was acceptable in an odd sort of way. Hitting the reset button was not. It's like what Stephen King did in the last of the Dark Tower series, it went from good to decent to shitty but you just wanted to see how it ended and then BAM! fucking reset.

 

Rofl, I'm glad I read this page before I began reading this story again. First time I began with this, I knew it would get me frustrated as that's the kind of story it is.. but now I thought it might be good. Apparently not.

 

Bah, this fic was really depressing. It got better towards the end with Harry becoming the snake king, but the ending of the battle and onwards was crap. The only thing that slightly improved the ending was the interaction between Harry and Senarion, but even then...

God I hope Daniel gets raped by a dragon.

 

I'm kinda surprised this fic didn't get archived. There were a lot of people into it, me included despite the fact that I don't usually get into H/Hr at all.

Yeah, the ending really was crap-kinda rushed as welll. But in regard to the author, I can see where, after doing so much, the end doesn't always meet up with expectations when your fingers ache.

 

IIRC, this *was* archived until the craptastic ending.

 

It was in the library till everyone freaked at the ending and voted < 3 to lower the rating.
