Obviously, besides Dresden, it'd be Michael, Ivy, and then Leanansidhe.

I just finished Small Favor, and holy shit. I was 'meh' on Ivy before, but she was awesome in Small Favor. Murphy didn't piss me off until the last book. I was actually starting to like her until Small Favor.

    My top 5-:
    1. Dresden
    2. Bob (he's lulzy)
    3. Michael (talk about faith...)
    4. Murphy ("Get in the car, bitch.")
    5. Ebenezar McCoy (killed a house of vamps by bringing a fucking SATELLITE out of orbit. How much cooler could you get!?)

Dresden 1st, closely followed by The Summer Lady Lily.
Deep down, everyone wants some Harry/Lily.

    I know I do XD

My favorite is of course Dresden followed closely by Thomas, they are awesome and I love their interactions.

I like Murphy and the whole "Protecting the people of Chicago" is, to me at least, just as character defining as Michael's faith and Harry's chivalry.

    1. Harry
    2. Thomas
    3. Ebenazar
    4. Gatekeeper
    5. Bob

All of which fall into one category. Annoying to the extreme. Yeah... All Right. I got it the twenty-third time, bitch. STFU already.

Also; I seriously would have FUCKED Michael up with that scene in Small Favors towards the end.

"Niggah, WUUUT?! After all the shit I did, you don't trust me? Its on now, bitch."

My favourite characters are, in no particular order, Harry (goes without saying really), Murphy (bite me, bitches :whipped:), Marcone, Ebeneezer and Ivy.

I agree with everyone who has said that Murphy's 'savior of Chicago' bullshit finally became too much in Small Favor. In the other books it was understandable, but she just went overboard with it in Small Favor. I don't dislike her immensely for it, but she certainly isn't a favorite any more.

I think Marcone and Bob have both gotten a bit stale. We know exactly what they are going to do and say, which I guess could be considered wonderful characterization, but meh.

Ebenezer still kicks ass, as he
dropped a fucking satellite on those vamp bitches

The only characters that I think are continuously getting better and better are Michael, Harry, Ivy, and (on occasion) Molly. I hope he drops Murphy and Marcone a bit for the next book, so we can have a bit of time off from both of them, and vamps up the Ivy/Molly use.

Kill it with fire. I dislike Molly, despite the old sig.

Ivy/Inari, on the other hand? :fap

Psh, Molly is made of tits and win.

Also, in aiding Ivy to be a real girl, I foresee...interesting developments around book 17. That is all.

I just started the sixth book and so far, the books are a wonderful piece of work and they seem to be getting better from book to book.

    My favorite characters are:
    -Harry (of course!)
-Marcone (his interaction with Harry are so amusing, book 5 p.341 is one of the best scenes:p)
    -Bob (he is fun)
    -Thomas
-Ivy (I haven´t seen much of her, but she is an intriguing character from what I´ve seen with much potential)

Billy and the Alphas are kind of cool, too.

Another rocking character is Kincaid. He's a god damn killing machine, and a damn effective one at that.

Enh, I've hated Murphy since she put dresden in Jail. Or when you put him in a cop car. Or when she went on a tirade about him not telling herself.

What does she think makes her so fucking special? And that's a huge dick move to pull on a friend.

Well, I can kind of understand why she was getting pissed off at him when she knows he's lying to her about active murder investigations. People are dying and she believes he's holding information back that might help her catch the killers, that's a good reason to be pissed. Of course, he had very good reasons for holding that information back, but Murphy had no way of knowing that until he explains the truth of the magical world to her in Summer Knight.

He is cool, the way he got Harry in Blood Rites (p.74 ff.)was pretty cool.

I forgot Mister! How could I forget him?
The cat has more personality in his tail than many fanfiction characters.
The way Harry talks about him is great

Yeah, Mister is pretty neat; pretty much your classic cat who is certain he's the one in charge of the apartment which he graciously allows Harry to live in so long as food and litter-box cleaning are provided.

That reminds me, so long as we're discussing pets Mouse is a pretty awesome character too; normally a big friendly dog, but when the bad guys provoke him he can turn into a real badass. The fact that he still defers to Mister is always kind of amusing too.

Murphy's response to getting a warrant against him in Storm Front and subsequently searching his office was a dick move, but one which I can semi-excuse based on their working relationship, and the obvious sense that Harry was hiding something. However, when he'd saved her life, convinced her to some extent that magic was a real world in its own right, and had risked his own life to save her ass...and then she went and pulled that shit again, in the very next book...Fuck Murphy, quit pretending to save the world for a second, and pull that knife out of your so-called friend's back.

I think that whole suspicion thing between Harry and Murphy in the first two books was a fairly good dynamic. Both of them are doing what they think is right. Both of them are trying to save innocents. And both are screwing each other over in the process. Personally, it was this dynamic that REALLY made me hooked with Dresden Files. If an author can show such brilliant ideological and emotional conflicts between his main characters, he's certainly worth reading.

Well, it bears mentioning that they don't really become friends until later in the series; in the first couple books their relationship is much more businesslike so I can understand Murphy not being as willing to put up with Harry's habit of keeping secrets. It bears mentioning that the two times she really went after Harry for keeping secrets people were dying and Harry was quite arguably holding back information that was vital to solving the case.
