I almost died laughing. At least that answers my question about who would love the series so much so as to pay a shitload for that drabble. An investment, rofl. Jo should be so proud.

 

Does anyone think it's actually a good investment? I mean, if she tries to write some fiction intended for adults, the whole myth satus could drop like a stone. Or not (as long as mugglenet exists).

I agree with Taure, the writing was awkward, and the humour attempts were crap, but honestly, it was better than I expected from JK.

 

The vignette isn't well-written at all, but neither is it that bad. Humour seemed forced, however, and the scene on the whole was rather dull.

The real lulz comes from reading the comments from the rabid Mugglenet fangirls. Comments like "simply amazing" and "truly brilliant" made me wonder whether they have actually read even a semi-decent oneshot before. I'm pretty sure JKR could take a blank postcard, wipe her ass with it before submitting it as her entry and those same fangirls would still be lauding its brilliance.

Well, I´ve read this "Prequel" and can only say:
"They should have asked someone else with experience in oneshots."

It is for charity, but think about it like this...

If you sell crappy stuff for charity more than once, people will eventually start to learn and won´t buy it (or at least not for such a high prize)!

It could have been from every new fanfiction writer, it had nothing from her style which she kept til book 5 and which nearly vanished after that. It wasn´t unique and not even very funny.
