I never really grasped how much contempt Rahkesh holds for Harry Potter. I thought he just wanted to shake the notoriety of being the Boy Who etc., but Rahkesh seems to nearly loathe his alter ego. "As in everything, weak and incompetent Harry Potter quietly died without argument, and the cunning, clever, powerful, ruthless, highly intelligent and very well educated Rahkesh Asmodaeus took off without looking back."

Rhakesh's calm acceptance of the probable deaths of his Hogwarts friends is FAR from canon!Harry's attitude. I hope Neville survives - I always liked him.

I thought that Snape was the second guy who ran for it a few chapters back. I wonder how Voldemort caught him? Snape is calculating enough to have Made Sure he had an escape route.

There are so many threads to follow, I'm actually rather glad that she had a more expository chapter. Frankly, I'd be irritated if Rahkesh HAD simply bounced back after Chapter 21. War preparations and logistics interest me, so the section about the Life Crystals wasn't filler for me. Besides, it added character to Daray, who desperately needed some.

I was wondering about the statistically unlikely aspect to the appearance of all those Parseltongue children, myself.

 

Snape wasnt one of the guys to escape. It never said who they were.

Rahkesh hates how famous Harry is, how everyone counts on him to solve the problems of the world. For being famous for no good reason. He doesnt mind it so much now because he has earned his respect.

As for the parselmouth children... I think Voldemort made them some how.

Six, I think, but there was the small body that Rahkesh found in the dungeon, as well.

 

I think that the reason there have never been more than a few parselmouths born at a time is because there has never been a threat like this (demon invasion) before and this is magic or nature's way of balance. After all, parsel healers are supposed to be the best right?

Nature is precognitive? Six-ten years ago (when the children were born,) HARRY sure hadn't noticed any sign of an extra-dimensional invasion.

 

It sounds like a plausable ability.

And if you remember the dreams Rahkesh has had he has seen the coming invasion.

That was my take on it as well. Unfortunately, that would mean yet another pointless filleresque subplot dragging this thing on. I like ASCAL, but Flairgold needs to hurry the fuck up and right something with substance.

Does anyone remember how many fics she wants to put out? last i heard it was 3 and that book number 2 was pretty much devoted to the destruction of Riddle and preperation for the demon invasion? So im thinking a few more chapters of entire filler with a final chapter that has the demons bursting onto the scene with an ending in the actual scene from Rahkesh's vison, chaos, destruction and death. Book 3 after that...?

 

She is aiming for 3. In an author note she said that the 3rd story was the one she really wanted to write. The other 2 were just build up to it. Even though it's taking forever.

 

Its not MPD at all though. Its more like he made up a persona to hide from anyone who wanted a piece of the-boy-who-lived, and ended up liking his made up persona more than who he used to be. He enjoyed himself more as Rakesh then he ever did as Harry, so he's slowly trying to phase out anything from his old life to live his new one.

 

If only we had a word for this dissociative disorder....
