Eldryn's stuff was good at the time, so yeah standards have raised substantially. Granted, this was back when canon was still full of possibilities.

 

You've got to be kidding me.

Maybe if you stripped it down to the extreme basic plot (Harry growing up with Lupin) it would be alright, but there were way too many elements of pure fail as it was. I really don't get why anyone would call it a decent story besides having passable grammar and spelling. I had to force myself to read each chapter, and the amount of fail finally made me unable to continue reading around ch. 17 or so. Calling KIP a good fic is an insult to all good fics.

Remove Super!Animagus!Suave!Cool!Harry, the CoS/Slytherin stuff, the OC's, the vampires, guitar, fail!staff, and probably a lot of other things I can't remember. Also you would have to change the characterization completely as pretty much everyone in KiP either acted way too mature for their age, or did not act like a real person at all.

Do those two things and you might be able to rewrite it and pull it off decently. I highly doubt anyone cares enough though. It was an utterly average fic, with a few ok ideas and a shit ton of fail.

 

Meh, I won't disagree on the amount of fail, and rewriting it with the same plot would probably fail even worst than the first time around, but whoever said to rewrite it with a Harry/Lily pairing has it completely right in my opinion.

I am a fan of this story mainly because I like Intelligent and powerful Harry fics. I will agree with those who have said that the guitar play was a little odd. I will also agree that Remus and Sirus were very under developed as characters but oh well. I am very graetful to Junky for posting the story so I could save it because it was a entertaining read.

It is quite sad how my favourite stories don't get finished these days. Fortunately Unsung Hero was completed although the ending was fail.

Hopefully we'll see this fic sometime in the future again

I don't think the new poster took authors permission. As much as we know about Mr. Joe's personality, very slim chance of him allowing someone else to continue this story.
Still the poster has already given credit and written in A/N that this is a repost.

 

You know, this really should be an education for Joe: if you act like Harry did in this story in real life, people don't love you for it. If you act like an arse, then you gotta expect people to dislike you.

 

I am not surprised someone has reposted this story there have been a lot of people asking for it. The story has been posted on the CaerAzkaban yahoo group and a few other places that I have seen.
