I'm not sure but didn't OotP come out after the second movie? If so then she would have already been cast.

True, it can't be easy to recast Ginny without a valid reason, Bonnie Wright probably has a contract to play Ginny for the rest of the series.

On a different note, was I the only one who thought the interviewer was terrible? His voice was soft, he seemed a bit nervous and he didn't have much in the way of personality or charisma.

 

That's what I implied. After the CoS film OotP came out but it was too late. They did have JKR on hand to tell them the important stuff though...

I doubt JKR herself knew wtf she was doing, it certainly didn't seem as she knew who Harry was going to end up with at the outset.

For me the Harry/Ginny pairing came as a shock, she was a minor character and not even an interesting one at that.

I think JKR chose Ginny on a whim, to appease fangirls.

They are both hot, but I think Sree's choice is better. These chicks are a bit too old and don't look British enough. I can picture Danielle something as Ginny.

Edit: If the people making these movies had any sense, they would go to Danielle Panabaker, Kelly Sweet, or Stacey Farber. They can teach you how to speak in a british accent later on.

Pretty sure there was. I don't know if there was more H/Hr or H/G, but those where very dominant as far back as I can remember. And really, OotP left only Luna, Hermione and Ginny as choices. The first was improbable, and Hermione seemed intended for Ron pretty early on, however much you might dislike it. In OotP Ginny suddenly becomes an übercool slut who plays Quidditch...

Americans make okay redheads. I never much got into That 70's Show, but I always thought Laura Prepon would make a decent Ginny, replacing the man-voice with a cute brit accent, of course.

 

I think the best choice out of those posted so far is Panabaker. She's hawt, can act (kinda), doesn't sound retarded and looks like I imagined Ginny. The other three are good but Prepon is kinda old. Maybe for the epilogue (Which we all hope is not included in the 7th film).

 

Naming American actresses here is kind of pointless in terms of actual casting (that is, other than for purposes of simply pointing out what you think Ginny should look like). The people in charge of the HP movies only cast actors with the same (birth) nationality as the character they're playing.

The HP casting directors don't care about accent coaches, they're not interested. Frankly, that's probably the way to go. Bad accents suck, witness Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Petunia disagrees. Bonnie doesn't have a skinny face like Petunia. Then again, Fiona Shaw isn't a blond like Petunia (though I've always pictured her as a brunette anyway).

You know, the sad fact is that I could scroll past a hundred stories listed as H/G and never click a single one, because they're so horrible and played out, but I'd click on a Harry/Petunia story, if for no other reason than morbid curiosity.

I've read a few Harry/Petunia stories...Only one of them was worth my time, and I can't even remember the title. Maybe that's an untapped market?

In any case, I thought Petunia was a blonde in canon? I'm fairly certain Vernon wasn't, but Dudley was...thus, Petunia would have been the blonde.

They could of at least got a hot actor to play Ginny! Instead they give the ugliest actor ever and all these stories have Harry/Ginny won't ever read because Ginny is a lipless bitch and is a piece of shit who only got 10 second air time each movie.

I was originally going to comment on your atrocious use of punctuation, but you changed that with your edit -not that this is much better, so I guess I'm just going to have to correct you instead. From what I see here you don't hate Ginny, you hate Bonnie. I think Bonnie was a bad pick on the casting crews' parts, but I hate Ginny, not her. One's a hideously ugly excuse for what's supposed to be a hot red-head, the other is a hot red-head whose relevance to the story appeared out of nowhere and that's why Daniel is now stuck with a yeti.

Anyways, I never realized just how shy Evanna is on camera. I don't know how she pulled off Luna so well, but maybe that's because she is a lot like her in real life. Thank god they got the perfect girl for Luna Lovegood. I would have shot myself if we had two abominable snowwomen on stage at the same time.

 

She's a lot like Luna because she's actually a huge Harry Potter fangirl, and more or less dreamed of playing her. Hope it's not too much of a kill-joy for you Lynch lovers.
