I have no fucking clue as to what Watchmen is, but that video just tickled my asshole in a way that leaves me confused sexually.

No but seriously awesome trailer. Faggy costumes aside it just got added to my need to see movie list.

Also did that blue guy just fucking kill Raiden of MK? Sonnavabitch!

Fucking finally. I've been waiting for a trailer for ages. They're all looking pretty good though it's not like we got a lot to go on at the moment. Silk Spectre is hot like she should be and Doctor Manhattan (The blue guy who killed Raven, Rabbit) looks fucking wicked.

Not much to go on but I'll say this movie looks pretty sweet. Rorschach is as cool as he should be, standing all Batman-style on a roof in the rain.

    I can't fucking wait.

Takes place in the eighties, where Nixon has served around five consecutive terms, due to cold-war paranoia allowing him to extend terms in the name of national security.

Superheroes are a known commodity, and are outlawed by the government. After the murder of a hero that used to be loved in the fifties or so, another shunned hero tries to find his murderer.

Very short, not giving it nearly the description it deserves, but now you know a little more.

Iztiak, find the graphic novel somewhere in a library or something and read it. Easily one of the best ever written and there's lots of back story that will probably be needed to fully understand and appreciate the movie.

Watchmen is epic. The graphic novel is dark, moody, and huge.

I just got back from seeing the Dark Knight... fucking amazing btw. I went to the 12.01 showing and am seeing it in IMAX at 9.30 (tickets sold out for the IMAX midnight showing 2-3 weeks ago)... anyway, they just showed the watchman trailer and it was amazing.

My friends were telling me that Watchmen is an amazing graphic novel and I need to order it and read it.

QFT. By Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, it's one of my favorite graphic novels (hell, favorite novels) that just happened to win a Hugo and is listed among Time Magazine's 100 Best Novels. Outstanding characters. Rorschach. Dr. Manhattan. The Comedian... the list goes on.

If you haven't read it, go do so.

    [Edit: Trailer kicks ass too.]

    The one liner was fucking epic;

"The world will look up and shout 'save us', and I'll whisper 'no'."

I may have to use that one in a HP fic...

I was really skeptical when I heard they were making a Watchmen movie. It just seemed impossible that they would do the book justice, but the trailer actually made me a little hopeful.

Alan Moore will probably still hate it, though.

I don't blame him for some trepidation--they don't have a great track record with his stuff. *cough* V for Vendetta *cough cough*.

In his defense, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen sucked giant, sweaty donkeys balls. V for Vendetta, while awesome, was an Americanised political statement, with the original British message gutted. Combined with other ham fisted Americanisations and miscommunications with the producers, he was pissed off about it. I haven't watched From Hell.

edit: I just swatched the trailer... The graphic novel is so large, so epic, that I doubt any movie could do it justice. Maybe a three hour long LoTR style film might be able to do it. The potential for failure is huge.

edit2: I forgot about Constantine. I haven't watched it, but I've heard unanimous condemnation for it. I figured it would suck as soon as I heard Keanu Reeves was starring.

Damn, I've just skimmed through the wikipedia article and I've realised that I've forgotten 90% of the plot. Now I'll have to dig up the graphic novel, wherever it's hiding, and re-read it.

From Hell was alright. Some of my friends loved it, some hated it... It was kind of 'meh' for me. Wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

That trailer looks incredible. I'm definitely going to read the novel before it comes out though.

Meh, the trailer was alright I guess. The voice at the end sounds less like a super hero and more like some wanna-be nerd who takes himself too seriously.

Besides the voice I liked it though.

I'd known about the trailer for a few days and I thought it was pretty good, then I went to see the Dark Knight (just got back, literally) and the trailer was fucking incredible. Seeing it on a computer just doesn't do it justice.

Oh, and if you folks haven't read Watchmen, I'd suggest you do. You'll be cooler.
