Not sure if this will be library-worthy, but I remember that a few of our members were interested in this crossover. So I thought I'd post it for the people who haven't seen it yet.

It looks like an alright start, but only time will tell. It could go either way at this point.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The idea of HP/Matrix Crossover is very intriguing and the story features my favourite female character paired with Harry which is a plus. The chapters are of healthy size too.

Unfortunately, there seems to be quite a lot of downsides to this fic too. First of, author's writing style seems to be a bit amateurish to me. It is by no means horrible, but expect to encounter some cringe worthy moments that aren't bad in their nature, they are just awkwardly written... Like those "passionate kisses"...

Another thing is retelling of both Matrix and Potter canon scenes in the first chapter. I realize that they are those pesky necessary evils that appear even some great authors' stories but hell, the fact that they are necessary doesn't make them any less evil.

Shit, no more reviewing, I'll just sum it up: there is an interesting idea in the hands of an average/below-average author who claims to be open to constructive criticism. I'd like to believe that he has potential but alas, he also seems to be post whoring which never is a good sign.

He doesn't have a single multiple-chapter story finished too.

I'll restrain from rating this for now, seeing as it's only two chapters so far and hope it will turn out to be worth-while.

Well, although mine is 33 minutes later it has a more detailed review.

Combining threads is in order, I guess.

 

Most of the intro chapter are useless exact summaries of cannon. The first 4/5 of the chapter retells the end of the trilogy starting from the Smith/Neo fight all the way to the oracle talking with the child. He could have easily skipped those with some simple plot device.

 

Hmph, you summed up my feelings about it pretty well. So it turns out I didn't need to make a detailed review, aye? Besides, my computer is always messing up, so writing long reviews just leads to me losing them...

Anyway, it's a good thing we caught this one early, we can tell him what to fix before he gets too far into it.

 

Only two chapters? Meh. I'll go for it when there is something more that isn't just summary.

Righto, I'll do that.

I was planning on doing that later, but now is a good time as any.

 

Matrix crossover ey. These are...difficult to read, often resulting in termination after HP as the one is revealed and magic become obsolete in the face of uber!martial artist Potter with the power a 3000 year old vampire Lord named Namach.

But then again it is Mordecai and he does reside within DLP.

I'm sorry but i couldn't continue, its written well with good grammar and punctuation used but its not really overly interesting.

And the use of Another one was, no sorry but 3/5 from me

 

I don't like it, it's been a long time since I watched the matrix, but crossing an arcane playe like the wizarding world over with some kind of different reality of technological people is fail to me.

 

I lol'd at "Another One".

From what I get it's a different Mordecai in question. DLP Mordecai is 17, this guy is 23.

 

One is Mordecai. The other is apparently Mordecai's. Different people.

And this is an interesting idea... with pretty bad execution. The "Another One" thing is kind of clever, but the kind of clever that only works as a joke... not a serious plot device.

I'm with you. While this might have some potential as one of those "Terminal Justice" parody style crossovers, the author's attempt at a serious tone is off-putting. Especially with the dreaded summaries.
