Like that's NEVER happened before?

 

Honestly, I thought it was obvious from the King's Cross scene in PS. Annoying foreshadowing. Still, it makes no difference since JKR has always had her hand in the production of the movies. I think she even got some measure of casting approval. JKR knew her somewhat homely Plain Jane was going to grow up to be Harry's girl. She had ample opportunity to fix things back in CoS. Further, Bonnie could have been replaced at any time. Teenagers change appearance drastically, and we don't really see her between Cos and OotP. They changed Dumbledore. They changed Pansy. They really ought t have considered changing Bonnie.

 

Bonnie had entire fansites dedicated to her purely because she played Ginny. Transference, y'know. Recasting the role of Ginny would have sparked outrage from people that had found a face for their fapping (for the lads) or self-insertion (for the ladies).

Pansy's a minor character and the fellow playing Dumbledore died, possibly on page 596. No comparison there, new guy.

 

Maybe yes, maybe no. There are all sorts of divergent ideas about just what the mechanism/s of evolution truly are. Not everyone thinks "survival of the fittest" does anything more than simply kill off the obvious mistakes.

Of course, there are many people who believe that mankind is the result of selectively crossing a humanoid alien with a pig. Which does at least explain why pigs are almost biologically identical to us, as opposed to chimpanzees.

 

First, wait, people believe a humanoid alien mating with a pig is the start of mankind? Second I thought chimpanzees were the closet related to us, don't they have like 99.7% of the same DNA makeup as humans?

 

Ginny's a minor character until the sixth book... She could have easily been re-cast. As for Gambon with Dumbledore, they should have picked somebody who actually wanted to understand the Dumbledore character, why was Ian Mckellon not available (although he was mithrandir at the time so I can forgive him).

Once, when Gambon was on an episode of Top Gear, they were interviewing him and discussing his role as Dumbledore.

I remember him saying that he hadn't actually read the books, and that sometimes he'd just act the lines out, not knowing the actual backstory.

He's a good actor but he doesn't seem to have a good grasp of Dumbedore's character, ruining Dumbledore in the movie.

 

I don't know. I rather liked him in POA. I think he really messed up in the other movies though.

 

Yeah, thats one of the reasons I don't like him as Dumbledore, I have no qualms about his acting in other things that he's done, but he has even said himself he doesn't research who he plays, merely acts it out.

Whenever I die i'm going to rape Richard Harris for dying, he was brilliant.

 

Gambon was HORRIBLE in Goblet of Fire. One thing I'm glad for, Marvel would never hire an ass who doesn't do any research to play in one of their movies now that they have control back over their own work.

I just got done watching the Golden Compass. It just goes to prove that you can find actors who can act, and are cute as children, and look to be possibly cute in the future.

Bonnie in CoS was plain, bordering on fugly, and it got worse from there.

 

Should just pull a ninja switch, like they did with the mom from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

 

It's the only one I know of where that happened, vagina face.

(what's with mods cracking on me lately, sheesh)

 

and what was funny about that, was they kept mentioning the switch, Will did anyway. Same thing when they had that kid grow up to 10 over the course of a summer.
