Frankly speaking, I was always a supporter of the concept that everyone has the right to their own opinion(s).

If you find the fanfic to be hogwash and deserves to be burned, so be it.

If you find the fanfic to be made of win, so be it.

If you find that your reviewers hate/love your fanfic, so be it.

I personally found the story to be mildly entertaining, something that I would term a light read without really using the majority of my brain to process. After all, it's only a story based on fiction.

Quite surprised this even still has a thread, wasn't this fic abandoned well over a month ago? It was fun to read while it lasted, but it really is time to move on...

 

Sigh. You guys are confusing the story and the author's useful contribution to fanfiction with this thread. One's dead, but the other can continue on providing laughs and enjoyment forever.

Abandoned fics have been around a lot longer than this thread and if some newbies want to come in here and go all Chris Crocker, crying about the great loss of a fic lacking direction getting abandoned is, then this thread is their stage to entertain and dance for us.

The way MrJoe/SerpentSannin/Fettucini/Oblong deleted it so he could focus on his studies just adds to the humor of people caring too much. Most abandoned fics just stop getting updates or the author announces its over. But MrJoe felt the people who were genuinely enjoying the fic deserved a little extra "FUCK YOU!" by toasting everything on his account and changing his name. It's hard not to be amused.

And in case his 'fans' need any more twisting of the knife, I can't help but notice he has a number of fics he's still following, including della's HP/X-men cross which wasn't even posted until two weeks after he 'deleted all of his distractions.' Hell, he's still lurking around this forum even. Maybe we can talk him into lying to you all and say he's working on a new chapter.

 

Would anyone actually fall for that?

 

I'll add in my 2 cents.

I'm more pissed that he deleted 'Puppet Master Naruto' than 'KIP'. But that's because I like Naruto stories a little more than HP stories. He bitched out and destroyed them entirely, instead of maybe taking a step back for a few months and letting us still have what he already wrote.

I've actually shrank it down from what it was when he said that. It's about 60% of what it was, and that's about as small as it gets and still be readable.

I think I remember reading "Puppet Master", but not too much about it...

Wasn't that the one where Naruto cut off Yuugao's arm?

Personally speaking, this was my favorite of his fics. Another author over at FF.Net reposted the entire thing, but has marked it abandoned. Being a Heur fan myself, I rather enjoyed all of their interactions, though I felt it seemed to take forever to get Fleur in the story.

I enjoyed the story, but I can't help but be pissed at the author for his complete destruction of the fic. Though I've found a few new guilty pleasure fics lately, so I doubt I'll care much longer.

 

I'll issue a challenge: Perhaps some of y'all might consider writing an ending Omake to the unfinished KiP? What better way to celebrate and eulogize Mr. Coffee's fanfiction genius?

 

Rules and Limitations?

 

-Harry's mother must be either cured or killed (maybe even both^^)
That is an important part. It is/was his greatest motivation...

-Harry gets his revenge on Bellatrix or he at least meats her.

-The Harry/Fleur issue should be handled

-Gabrielle must kick at least one boy/man right in the balls!
(can't have a good story part without this, now, can we?)

-The Triwizard tournament should end somehow or the ending of it should be mentioned

-Neville gets his ass kicked (not to bad, just for the lulz of it)

(Somewhere Archie and his love should be mentioned)

Right now I can't think of much more, but that are points that need to be mentioned in a good Omake/Ending.

 

Let's see... rules:

Be compliant with the KiP universe and wrap things up satisfactorily.

Word length: Whatever is appropriate, provided it ends well. (300k words without a proper ending is like 3 hours of foreplay without a sticky facial).

Extra points for including one or more of: Snape--death by waffle iron; Harry/Lily goodness--Why should Vash and Big D get all the fun?; Harry setting his guitar on fire Jimi-style; Fleur getting preggers and Harry kicking her to the curb; an unorthodox use of the sword, er, flamberge, er, XXL-sized dildo or whatever the heck it was.

(I'd be tempted to do one myself, but I've already done the ending of A Second Chance at Life--Rakhesh death by chewing gum. Out of fairness, I think we should share the fun).

Potential Neville-bashing aside, though he is a rather average kid, it should more than likely be him that defeats Voldemort. Harry may be full of bad-assery, but Neville is still the prophesized one.
