This just hit me and I do not know if it has been done or not. I also do not know if it could be done well but what if the order,ministry and voldemort had to team up to fight the muggles. I am not really sure what time frame this could take place probably fifth year. That seems to be the jumping point for a lot of stories. Well what does everyone think?

 

Uh... That isn't a plot. That isn't remotely a plot. Why are they fighting? Why are the muggles such a threat that the wizards need to team up? What's the story's "goal?"

 

Didn't we have like, 100 debates on this already?

Maybe you could have the muggles notice some anomoly on their satilite photos of London and Scotland, and decide to investigate. Oops! Forgot, muggles can't see the Leaky Culdron, so how would they get into the alley? Wouldn't the muggle-repelling charms cause them all to decide that investigating an old ruined castle isn't worth their time?

 

I'll sum up the debates if you want, in accordance with the questions.

Why are they fighting? Because muggles are assholes that bomb whatever the fuck they consider strange, or possibly a threat.

Why are they such a threat? They have both numbers and technology. Before this devolves into a Tech vs Magic thread, I'd like to point out that the major point here is "Numbers".

As for the goal, thats for the author to decide. Though I'd like to see one where the wizards strive for dominance.

To me, if magic was truly immense and powerful then wizards would easily win, they could bewitch muggles in nuke bases and tell them to fire on themselves, shields could stop bullets, vanishing charms on bombs, apparation to get into Downing street, it's been established the the ministry are everywhere from postoffices to Kingsley working with the prime minister.

It would take most british wizards, and competence so logically (according to canon) muggles would win, however with competent wizards then the magical world could easily win. Just my opinion.

 

We've already had numerous Wizard vs Muggle debates and it's pretty clear that the consensus is in favour of the wizards, whether they kill all the muggles or just make them forget again doesn't matter. Hell, from what we've seen in the books Dumbledore could single-handedly take out an entire nation by himself if he wanted to.

But still, can we not turn this into another repeat of the other threads. This... idea would need a lot of work to even be considered a plot bunny. There's no mention of where Harry would fit into this, only that the Ministry and Voldemort would need to team up, which I still find highly unlikely. The may have a common enemy, but the Ministry is not so daft (under Scrimogeour) as to ally themselves with a Dark Lord.
