I was looking at the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" page on IMDb and I saw an actress called River George, in the role of Laurasia.

Now, Laurasia was a fucking region of earth when dinosaurs still weren't cinder, but I didn't know there was a character named that in the HP books.

In fact, I don't believe there is...

Did they made it up? And if they did, why? I'm not even sure we'll see the woman on screen enough to recognise her, so I can't see the point in there.

The actress is hot, though.

They did mention that they had made up a character, a girl who Dumbledore had a crush on and that's when JKR told them the old man was gay. That doesn't mean they did what she told them.

This is a scene created only for the film "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" by Steve Kloves and David Yates, and it never happens in the book. It replaces the scene of the "Other Minister", in the opening of the film, with the Prime Minister Muggle, Cornelius Fudge and Rufus Scrimgeour, to show how the muggles feel what is happening: the Second Wizard War.

So Sofie is not a character made by J.K. Rowling. It is supposed she appears near the Millennium Bridge, St.Paul Cathedral or the House of the Parliament. There is facts about scenes for the film were recorded there.​

That makes sense, if it is done well. It's better they display the happenings than just talking about it, i.e. the collapsing bridge, the giants raiding the village, dementors breeding, etc.

 

Despite a morbid curiosity that I admit exists - I don't want to see that. At least if they do, I hope they follow the route Peter Jackson took with the Uruk-Hai in the Two Towers.

But I'd like to see the other disasters occur.

 

I'm guessing the Dementors "breeding" will take the form of something like mist coalescing into the shape of a Dementor and then going darker and icy etc.

And yeah, the opening of HBP may very well end up the best bit of it.

 

This scene they've apparantly done where the burrow is attacked, UGH. I mean seriously, that didn't HAPPEN in ANY way. How the hell are they going to fit the plot around it? Or are they going to use it as a vehicle for some Harry/Ginny?

 

Question: In HP:SS the Movie I'm certain Lavender Brown was played by a black chick. Now she's a blond haired, blue eyed Barbie blow up doll... what happened?

As for the movie, I'm curious about the scenes and characters they've created. I don't like it much, but they can't do it worse than the book did, can they?

 

Did you miss the part in the fifth movie that Ginny's Reducto had the force of about 5 pounds of C4? I think that they can screw this up.

Considering how so many people in this forum hated HBP, I fail to see how this extra scene could be bad. From what I can gather from the trailer, it has Greyback in it.

I'm thinking along the lines of Twisted, I reckon it will be used as a plot driver for Harry/Ginny. They can't really film the monster-in-the-chest syndrome can they?

On the topic of Laurasia, frankly I'm not to fussed. It'll provide some hotness to distract from Wright.

Authors and producers should stop reading fanfiction...or start reading Harry/Luna immediately.
