If you were the casting director for the HP films and were asked to recast for the Deathly Hallows movies, ¿who would you cast?

Seeing that a few recent discussions have got most of us criticizing the cast of the Potter films, I found it apropiate to open this thread.

Ron would be recast with Rob Schneider instead of Grint, for the lulz.

Harry would be played by Samuel L Jackson of course.

Hermione would be re-cast as the man she is. Don't care who.

    Kidding.

It's sad, but as much as I do not like the HP cast, I really can't picture them being anyone else anymore.

Wayne Pygram as Voldemort. Scorpius for the fucking wyn!
If you're sticking to the all-Brits rule, then Billie Piper as Tonks.
Richard Harris's corpse as Dumbledore. Still shows more emotion than Gambon.
Hugh Laurie as Snape for the lulz.

That made me think about Peter Cushing as Voldemort. Now, that would be win.

    Somebody call a necromancer, please.

EDIT: Shit, I've just noticed the glaring mistake on the Image I've posted.

That's what you get when you copypaste too quickly:(

Well in light of recent revelations I would have Ian McKellen as Dumbledore, either him or Elton John.

I think it would probably be a quicker way of going about it to say who wouldn't you recast. At least, for me.

Characters who I feel were cast well:

    Hagrid
    Ron Weasley
    Snape
    Lucius Malfoy
    Draco Malfoy
    Bellatrix Lestrange
    Lord Voldemort
    Gilderoy Lockhart
    Delores Umbridge
    Cornelius Fudge
    Fleur Delacour
    Cedric Diggory
    Victor Krum
    Quirrel
    McGonagall
    Arthur and Molly Weasley
    Luna
    The Dursleys
    Neville
    Pettigrew
    Moody
    ...

Okay, maybe your way around would be much quicker. But the above list I suppose does serve as a reminder of how much the producers got right at least. We just happen to notice the failures...

    Harry
    Hermione
    Ginny
    Dumbledore (both of them)
    Flitwick
    Sirius Black
    Remus Lupin
James and Lily Potter (they're far too old)
Shaklebolt (He's somewhat of a comic character in OotP... who is to become the leader of the Order and future Minister)
    Tonks

Ian McKellen would have been very good, other than the fact that we already think of him as Gandalf. But he is perfect for the part. He has the perfect balance of wise old man, powerful wizard, friendly and eccentric mentor and troubled leader. Harris was too much wise old man and not enough powerful wizard, Gambon is the reverse.

The young Lily Evans they casted for the OotP movie wasn't bad. A pity she never made it to the final cut of the movie. Could be prettier, though.

As for Ginny, Rachel Hurd-Wood would be a good choice. We might not like the character, but at least, let us enjoy if we have to watch her wether we like her or not.

Look at the name, it should be obvious.
    Characters I would recast

Ginny, anyone better looking than a horse could be much better.

Kingsley, since he is set to play such a major part in the upcoming books.

Tonks, I think Big D defined it best when he said the current Tonks looks like a Taiwanese ladyboy.

Remus Lupin, I never saw him as Lupin, and the pedostache is just wrong.

Fleur, in the book she was supposed to be drop dead gorgeous. The girl who plays her is above average, but she isn't as hot as the books have Fleur to be.

Dumbledore, Gambon has as much emotion as a rock.
    -----

My favorite casting in the whole movie franchise was Helena Bonham Carter. She played the part of Bellatrix perfectly, in what she was given. I definitely want to see more of her.

I actually quite liked the Fleur in the movies. I never saw Fleur as "drop dead gorgeous" in an overly sexual way. I don't see her as a barbie doll. Rather, I see her as more pretty than sexy, a higher class of beauty than base sensuality. I see her rather like a more beautiful, younger Narcissa.

Clemence Posey worked quite well for this.

I actually think that Bonnie is the perfect person to play Ginny. She is exactly what I think the spawn of Molly would look like. It isn't the casting directer's fault JKR decided to have her bone Harry.

I agree with Big D, Billie Piper as Tonks... I would also change Ginny, I don't know who to though. Ian McKellen As Dumbledore also. Clémence Poésy as Fleur was good, but I also think they could have done better.

Edit: Fuck it Clémence Poésy rocks, forgot about that half nude scene she did in some French movie :p

But the fact is she is boning Harry, and the least they could do would be to make her hot.

Yep, personally I cant think of a good movie where the main character gets the ugly chick while the side kick gets the hottie :( I say they drop Bonnie and just re-cast her... They did it with Lavender Brown!

I'm curious why folks don't like the Hermione casting. Is it because she's too attractive? Or is it the pedestrian quality of her acting? Or is it something else I'm missing?

I don't think Cho was cast well, but considering how badly they butchered her character in the screenplay, I guess it didn't matter.
