I'm a college student. $7.59 is enough to feed me for two days.

Good riddance I say, Immolo and Blaise were the worst of the lot in my opinion.

Can't say I'll be buying this. I agree about the footnotes, but as long as it isn't Dumbledore and Grindlewald writing love notes back and forth, it shouldn't be too bad

Nah, she left plenty hanging, like the 'magical reserves' debate.

She only left shit out because she was a dumb fucker who didn't think most of her work through.

Or. She intended to make a small fantasy series and didn't expect to go from living in a shit-hole like a hooker to being richer than the monarchy, nor have every plot hole/detail in her book ripped to pieces by obsessive fans.

Still, by the time she had wrote her first three books she should have been able to tell that they were well recieved and thus thought the rest of them through. Hopefully she writes something akin to the Silmalarion of Tolkien.

She said from the get-go everything was planned out before she put pen to paper, and that she wasn't going to change it because of fans.

I kind of like JKR a bit more, if she's being honest about the "Not catering to the whims of fans" deal.

On the subject of the book, I've always been a fan of children's stories, lame I know, so if I spot it I might pick up a copy. I'm not going to go looking for it in any case.

Shouldn't an Author care about the opinions of the fans? I mean they are the ones who BUY the books, so the author should take in the fans opinions to a degree.

Thats my thought as well generally, thats why I think JKR should have been half-careful with the amount of plot-holes she created and how many contradictions there were in the books.

Yeah, but she shouldn't let it influence the content.

The author should see if s/he could make the series better by what the fans like, Not change the whole plot of course, But little things such as J.K could have, I don't know say made the pairing not HG. Bad example. But little nuances that fans pick at could be changed as long as the general plot remains intact.

Great idea. Let the slasher wars influence canon.

*Rolls eyes* Little NUANCES, not pairings or plot, just filler shit. Like what Harry did between classes, what he had for breakfast and other such drabble that's put in to fill out the story yet give no change to the plot. Not only would it not change the plot but make the fans happy. And slashers aren't fans, If they were fans they wouldn't ship HPSS.

    Pretty much.

I got the Quidditch book and Fantastic Beasts as a set and they're nice enough for the price, if you want extra info... or if you have the pack rat gene and NEED to collect them.

I did borrow FB and QttA from my local library, and they were good reads. Especially for the price of "free".
