It's just fashionable to bash it at this time--after four chapters of virtually nothing happening, it's easy to start poking fun of the story. I don't think the story is all that bad, so much as muddled and unfocused. We all know it'll be 250k more words before the real action heats up, so it's easy to get antsy.

 

Perspicacity is right, 4 chapters of filler is enough to have most here jump on the bandwagon and take shots at this fic. I've taken a few digs at it but despite that i like parts of the story and will continue to read it.

I think its only at 2 chapter of filler. He killed Voldemort 3 chapters ago.

But I still like the story, I'm just annoyed at the slow plot movement.

Agreed, but what would be the state of any story without much filler to help it along.
Anyhow we all should be giving the author plenty of credit on this (even you narf) to be writing such a long fic a 3 part trilogy over the past 2 year's and for her to have not abandoned it deserve's alot.

 

Yeah... but the only reason she needed to write such a long fic is because she is apparently utterly unable to get to the main plot. She is always bringing out random shit like this Death Dragon thing that just makes her story even longer and more tiresome.

Liking a fic because it is long is pretty foolish. I myself have written hundreds of thousands of words of my own inane ramblings on one 'plot line', but I would never EVER post it because it is trash. And why would she abandon it when she has so many people just waiting to read whatever drudge she spews out whether it be filler, plot-related material, or just more hot, vamp buttsecks (because in modern day fantasy you can't do without a few vamps that have 'given up' on religious 'prejudices' making them willing to take it up the ass. Becuase, obviously, it is a religion problem instead of a 'wow, I don't want anything stuck in my ass' one...).

 

Normally two chapters of filler wouldn't be that bad, however, this is updated once a month which makes the filler all that more annoying.

 

I stopped reading the minute he killed Narcissa Malfoy. It's just wrong to kill the MILF.

I hate it when Messenger goes like "You've got a new e-mail from address Dark Lord Potter forums" And then I go like "Yes, finally the discussion continues!" or "Yay, a new chapter or a storyprogress update!" but no, it has to be an almost necropost...

apparently no one here has the attention span of a two year old. So it has filler, so what? I came on this to see what others thought about the story and all I see is a bunch of bullshit. The way I see it is there are two 'factions' on this site and the two are always ripping on each other. wtf? Does it serve a purpose? I really like this story myself and I don't know why you even read this anymore if you hate it so much. I'm not ripping on anyone in particular, but come on, be a little more mature people! immaturities fun though...hm... whatever I don't care anymore.

 

I just ignore all the bullshit. most of it is because of the fact that this story is in the recycle bin. who cares! every story has pros and cons that draw in some readers and others can't stand it. I started reading this fic from the very begining and I am hooked even though there are elements in this story that I don't care for. Am I going to argue with other peoples opinion? nope

It is because stories like this are lambasted every day on DLP, often by the very users who so defend it on this thread.

It baffles and confuses us that any DLP user, especially regulars with normally good taste, can LIKE this garbage. You always fear what you don't understand. You always attack what you fear.

I'm not saying you can't have differences in opinion and discuss it, but I've seen countless threads degenerate into several users just tearing into each other. It normally has nothing to do with the thread in particular and it surprised me. I've lurked on this site a bit and it seemed like the members were more mature and had more common sense than the mindless H/Hr and H/G shippers on other sites. It just seems to me that a few users go out of their way to fuck with other users. This is my last little rant, and I'm going to avoid the conflicts from now on. Is it just me? Whatever.
