I'm not sure if I should be concerned but my Ipod has been skipping songs alot lately. I don't know if that's normal or if its screwing up. If I pause it and replay the song (from where it skipped before or the beginning) It plays fine but I'm just wondering should I take it to the shop before it gets worse.

Shops can't do much about small problems like that in an Ipod. It is something that just happens with age, not something you can rewire. Wiping it and hoping it doesn't happen again is your best bet.

Its happened to me once. It had something to do with the way it was uploaded, I think. It worked on different playlists, but not on certain other playlists.

I only had it for like 22 days which makes it weirder. So I should just restore it then? Not that I'd mind but it is pretty annoying to have to reload all those songs.

I think its the latest version. Its a shuffle 2GB so I thought it would be okay.

Just restore the bloody thing. It should work fine. And 2GB of uploading songs is nothing, when you have one of the larger ones then it can get tiresome. The skipping songs thing is a common issue with the iPod.

If restoring it doesn't work then you should delete the firmware from your computer and re-download it from iTunes, then restore again. Corrupt firmware blows.

What store did you purchase it from?

Also, I never can figure out why Ipod's are so damn popular. Why spend a shit ton of money on something when you can get good player for around $30 (last time I checked, which has been a while)

    Dick Smith Electronics, Australia obviously.

Yep agree with you there, I got my iPod video when they first came out so it cost me like $A700, I used it for about 2 months and barely touched it again :(

Er...perhaps because no other company that makes mp3/pmp's advertises as strongly? I've never seen a television commercial for even a Zune, much less anything else.

Not mentioning the products at all, its the popularity they have now which keeps it going strong. If a better product came out, most people would still go ipod as its the 'way to go'.

Apple took a risk in trying to dominate the market and it paid off big time.

That's strange; most women I know are quite handy with gadgets/tech stuff.
