Have you read it? I'm reluctant to try it out.

It's fairly recent, which makes the author's choice to use a supersword (that killed Merlin when he looked at it, because that's how sharp it is) all the more perplexing.

On a whim, I started the prequel to this (Legend of the Twelve) a couple months ago, but couldn't get into it. Somehow stories about a Sue paired with Albus Fuckhead Potter who's supposedly uber-megapowerful don't really do it for me. I'd be surprised if this one were any better.

 

You also forgot to mention the "chapter 37" which is an angst filled... actually readable piece of crap.

IF you skip the harry/ginny parts of it.

I figure i'll give the next one a go as well, seeing as I didn't actually really mind the first one. Probably because I am procrastinating my paper.

IRC is too much fun, and if I'm on it I can't get anything done. Maybe once school and stuff settles down and I get some more free time I'll hop on more often, but right now I just got too much stuff to do.

 

Damn. This story, I think this is what made me stop reading fanfiction for about five months. It was ridiculous with how every single character in the story seemed to pull a romantic interest out of their ass. I feel sorry for any poor soul that had suffered through the mistake of reading this abomination.

 

Eh - if one is just looking for long stories: hp-ff has 79 stories with more than 200,000 words - but almost all of the list I wouldn't dare to touch. You don't even need to read the summaries, most stories can be judged by looking at the banner.

FictionAlley has 50 >= 200,000 and four >= 500,000.

ff.net has 539 >= 200,000, among them 30 >= 500,000 and six even >= 800,000.

Which features an author modeled, superpowered OC, paired with an above average Harry, with a side of Ron/Hermoine and Draco/Ginny. Oh, and its a Second-person narrative.

 

"Author modeled, superpowered OC" is a nice way to describe a Mary Sue.

And, eurgh, second person is painful to read.

Dear god. One of the >800,000 word stories, entitled very originally the Black Heir has Harry Potter performing coitus with Lord Voldemort. How in god's name can you write 800,000 words of that?

Right, about the others:

One is crap Albus Severus, Scorpius, New Marauders bullshit that I never find appealing.

One is Albus/Minerva romance. Rather freaky, but to each his own I guess.

One is about two lesbian sisters. Entertaining for a one shot, but not for over 800,000 words.

And another is most likely Severitus. The last sounds all right but in my opinion Harry Potter and Destination US do not mix.

I have a certain amount of respect for anyone writing over than 500,000 words but is >800,000 words the point from which your story is doomed or something.
