Yeah. Next-gen consoles suck. PC Games have sucked. I'm sticking to the gym with racquetball and golf, myself. Now we have assholes clamoring for CoD5.

 

If they want to fight piracy, making the games cost more is somewhat ... stupid.

Now, if the playing time was truly long and the price not that of a fullprice game, I'd deem it okay...

 

I just finished Crysis on hard am am very, very unimpressed. Eyeball orgasm was nice with it on high quality, but it took me maybe 12 hours of fucking around and exploring the island to beat it.

Yet, if I'd bought the game new, I'd of blown 60 bucks. Not worth it. if it had multiplayer like tribes or something, sure, but if I'm going to spend 60 bucks, it needs to be 40 hours long.

 

FPS's don't generally have long single player modes... original Halflife 2 excluded (and even HL2 only felt like it dragged on... damn ravenholm).

Far Cry 2 will supposedly have an 18 hour campaign, which is the longest "new" FPS to come out (vs Halo/Crysis which have 10 hr long campaign modes). Oblivion with guns... who knows how that will shape up (from what gameplay footage you can get off of youtube, it looks pretty good, but it's hard to say, if it's anything like Oblivion...).

As for SC being split into 3 games? Not enough info for me to judge yet, but this is probably bad news rather than good.

This pisses me off too. Even though nowadays, we still pay (much) less for games than with the SNES, the prices are still illogical and out of orbit.

It's not fair to pay the same for a 40 hour long game, with a good production value, than a fucking three hour party game, to spend some time with friends. And that pisses me off even more here in Europe, because in the PAL market we are videogames' bitches and the price for games con go up from 60€ (81$) to fucking 70€ (94$)

 

They could've solved the piracy bit pretty easy. They are just milking the game.

An update about D3 (bit old but some people might not have seen it.)
- No PK'ing
- No LAN
- All stats are auto-assigned
- In order to reduce chaos on screen, the game is currently geared for 4 players, but that's not set in stone.
- Gold is the fixed currency AKA trading can only done with gold.
- Everything that is not underground will be static. Only dungeon maps will be dynamically rendered.
- Town portals have also been removed.

 

Well. I don't think I'll be purchasing Blizzard games any longer. Can we say series RAPE?
