That line, couldn't remember it all. If he's talking about the archway, as you see it in the trailor then thats what will annoy me.

That was at the part where he's wiping blood on the rock wall but I think that was a snippet from when they are at the pool with the fake horcrux or where katie puts on the neclace.

those two fit in my head.

It seemed to me like it was the entrance to the pool of Inferi at the base of the cliff, but it's been a while since I read the book.

I suspect they've taken the sound from a different part of the film and put it over Dumbledore entering the cave. It sounds like Dumbledore explaining horcruxes to me.

Well, at least they got the cliff right.

Aah...Sweet Lavender. I cant belive just how much that scene looked like they describe Harry/horse kiss on the book. And still, how the hell Ron-stupidass-Weasley gets to kiss a how girl anyway?

Heh, and that bit with the flirting with the end... nearly made me like cannon harry for a tiny little second :)

That was actually my first thought, the cliff with the water splashing up it actually looked like a proper cinematic screen, the music was half-decent as well.

Dunno what everyone's talking about. This trailer sort of sucked - but even if it didn't, this is the exact same fucking routine we go through every year or every other year.

The international and U.S. trailer comes out and we all fellate it and say "Well, this one will be better" - and if I remember correctly, it's only gotten worse each iteration. Goblet of Fire trailers were awesome; the only good part of the movie was Ralph Fiennes point-seven second apperance. Order of the Phoenix had good trailers with "INCONTROVERTIBLE!" Dumbledore and spooky Death Eater masks and Sirius Black acting all awesome - and lets not forget Ralph Fiennes in a suit at the train station.

Order of the Phoenix however turned out to be the worst fucking movie of the five by a landslide majority - the only saving grace was ugly Luna's awesome voice.

These movies suck - and the fact that they're splitting the last one, the second largest and 6th or 7th ranked in terms of favorability and didn't do OOTP when it was the largest and most complex and interesting and "set everything up"iest of the bunch shows you that their main intention is to get the morons who are persuaded by trailers and HP mania to come and watch a really, really poorly designed movie so they can line their pockets with the most money for the least commitment and passion spent imaginable.

Lord of the Rings is the best; and Star Wars at least had lightsaber fights. But HP couldn't even do OOTP, the birth of the fanfiction boom, moderately well - and for that it's not even a trust but verify approach people need to take with this franchise. It's fuck Warner Bros., J.K. Rowling for allowing it and watching something awesome like Gran Torino instead.

That was my thought as well. They do this all the time in trailers.

Indeed it is. From what I recall reading here, Laurasia is an original character, cooked up for a scene in the opening of the movie, regarding the effects of the Death Eater activity in the muggle world. She's supposed to be a government employee, right?

In other words, the scene with the bridge collapse. In spoiler-vision for those who have been under a rock.

Uh, I've liked each new film more than the last. I even bought the GoF and OotP DVDs. Sure, they're nowhere near perfect, nor as good as the books were, but they're enjoyable to watch, and that's why I see them. I already know the story, so it's not for the plot that I go see the HP films. It's to see the scenes that I love from the books come to life. And the HP films do fairly well at that.

    I'm with Taure,

Frankly compared to Philosophers stone and chamber of secrets... which were the closest to the books, the new movies are far better than the first two; even if they don't follow the plot exactly.

Frankly considering how much most of us hate the last two books I think the movies will actually improve on the story because they don't bother to stick with the original plot outline.

Also as much as some people will disagree I think the acting has improved. For example... the guy who played barty crouch(David tennen?) is a fantastic actor imho but he did that stupid as fuck tongue thing. In comparison Radcliff was able to convey an ongoing plot element with his signifigant head rolls.

I'll acknowledge directing fault for that example but the actor is the one who in the end portrayed it.

Plus there are loads of characters which are worth going back to watch in the film. The twins, Luna, Neville, Hermione if you can ignore her eye roles.

I didn't mind OOTP film, I just couldn't stand a few scenes, like the sloppy bit with Harry/Sirius where he's scared he's going 'dark' and the whole department of mysteries was awful, yet not too bad. If they had kept the whole prophecy in and actually had the big duels that they had choreographed it would have been 20x better.

If, if, if. This franchise has been run into the ground on movie adaptations.

I'm not going to excuse people who are asking for my money for delivering a shitty, lackluster movie anyone could've drawn up. It's one thing to volunteer shitty fanfiction work that we routinely rip new assholes into to make aerodynamic despite some of them being decent but you numbskulls want to excuse people who actually turn a profit on absolute shit.

Well BioPlague, what the fuck did you expect with a series of seven children books to adapt? Peter fucking Jackson?

I expected somebody with the enthusiasm and dedication to Harry Potter that Peter Jackson had to the Tolkien series. So far we seem to have somebody who's dedicated to fucking canon up and adding shit scenes and deleting important ones.

    That.

And really, they don't do the previews as if they're solely marketed at children, so the movies should reflect the level of quality that a young adult-to-adult would expect.
