If I feel the need to keep track of a thread, I'll subscribe with email (because I always have my email open...job habit). Most of the time I can't remember where/what I've posted, so I just use the "New Posts" thingy at the top to read all the posts since I last visited. About once a week I mark all forums read to start over (some times I don't have the time necessary to read the "For Review" forum, so they get stuck being unread until I mark everything read.

I subscribe to every thread I post in and a lot of threads I'm just interested in. No email because I never check email.

Always seemed easiest to me. ¯\(°_o)/¯

    Diet Coke.

And I suscribe to my story threads only (plus that super-old "French culture and language help" thread I had set up ages ago, in the Fanfic Discussion subforum if I recall correctly; just in case someone digs it up and actually needs help). The reviews I get are few and far between, so I'm not exactly snowed under with emails, but that way I can reply to them fast.

"Diet coke"? Cup a hand over your mouth while saying that, and you kinda get "I eat cock". Just sayin'.

On topic: the thing I hate about auto-subscribe is going through old threads that I want to cancel. S'like wading through junkmail. I wish there was a way to auto cancel non-library threads after X amount of time.

What would be extra sweet is some sort of Necropost bot that warns off would-be posters - the same way we're warned when there aren't enough characters in our posts.

@Tinn: Subtle nudge is subtle :p I meant to leave a review for the last chapter of SotT, I'll get to that one of these days. And I'll tentatively raise my hand for your help, since the next chapter of The French Affair nears completion (starring Harry, Ana, Inès, Aimée and a yacht in St Tropez).

But yeah, subscribing, what's that? :p So no, I don't subscribe. I never tried to, but since I check the Forums regularly, I don't think I need to.

    Edit:
And Blaise, just what are you doing tonight? You're continuing right where you left off in the Intro-thread.

I never subscribe to threads. Just seems easier to check the forums whenever I can get the time. Means I often get disinterested in threads if I haven't visited them in a week or so, but... meh.

E-mails... never. My inbox is already well on it's way to being full. o_o

I have the autosubscirbe feature on (subscribe to anything I post in). I created a filter in Gmail and divert all DLP emails to a separate folder for me to check.

Well, we are indeed in need of something to discuss. I mean, presidential elections can only do so much right...oh.

Let's see the effectiveness of those who subscribe in comparison to those who don't. Post and say whether you actually subscribed or not. :O

We can then see what the reply ratio for DLP'ers who do subscribe, and those who don't, is. :D

I don't subscribe. I have DLP as my homepage, though, so I usually end up surfing through the 'new posts' section when I'm bored and find new posts to the threads I've written in that way.
